How to Properly Store Record Player

Hello all!

My boyftiend and I recently found an RCA Victor VJT67F Model at the thrift. It was on our wishlist for furniture when we move out. We are planning to get a climate-controlled storage unit, but I'm a bit paranoid and want to make sure it doesn't get ruined in any freak accidents (i.e. water from air vents)!

Any advice on how to cover it and prevent disaster?

For context, I am a caregiver (W-2 employed with a franchise).

I am not sure how common of an experience this is, or not, for others in this field, however there is no excuse.

After I get off my 12-hour overnight shifts with clients, my job will decide to bombard me with calls and texts. Either it's scheduling, questions about my clients, or in this case, changing the start time of my next shift. While I am sleeping after my 12 hour overnights.

Tonight, I was scheduled to work from 10pm-8am, so I had my alarms set as such. And wow, is my job lucky because I woke up a bit early, and was privy to my job having called me once and sending me 5 messages (AT 4PM) about how they changed my start time to 8pm. It was not even a question of whether I could or not, they just did it, even after I did not respond.

How the hell am I supposed to know if I am asleep! I fear it is common sense to know that someone who just worked a full 12-hour shift (with no breaks and not allowed to fall asleep) is SLEEPING and will NOT be awake until the following scheduled shift. Imagine if I hadn't woken up! I would have been made responsible for that. God forbid I get even 2 more hours to myself, working 50 hours this week. Am I supposed to just not eat? I have not eaten in over 24 hours. When am I supposed to find the time?? I'm not going to be rude, and eat in front of my clients.

No wonder caregiving is such a high burnout career. I can tell you it's not because of the clients, it's because of the scheduling department and supervisors who allow it to happen.

Is this a common experience for others? Or should I seriously consider talking to my HR Representative (nevermind, she quit last week)?
