Restricted Key Cutting

We just moved into a new house and needed to replace the lock on the front door (standard euro cylinder lock). Unfortunately damage to the lock meant we needed to call a locksmith and couldn't do it ourselves. Just noticed that the cylinder they installed is a special cylinder with restricted keys only able to be copied at that locksmith at a premium (more than twice the price of standard key). Am I right to be quite annoyed by this? I'm half considering replacing it again myself, but don't want to do this because we just forked out money for someone else to do it. I never asked for a restricted lock!

Restore Chinese Paper Cutting

Hello!

15 years ago on a trip to China, I purchased a traditional paper cutting, and mounted it in a frame when I returned. Once a vivid red, the colour has really faded, and I would like to restore it. The paper is really delicate, and has almost a tissue paper/crepe paper like texture. I am worried that I might damage it. Has anyone done this before? Or would anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!
