Can I handle his mental health? Will it get better?

I feel awful as separation/ divorce is mostly on my mind these days. The last year and a half has been horrible with ups and downs of my husbands (34M) mental health, which resulted in a lot of lying and me carrying most of the financial burden. We also have a three-year-old and a one-year-old, so grieving my postpartum, young-kids days a lot. I don't know if I'll ever forget that he took these days away from me or forgive him for what he did when he wasn't well (online OF spending). He is the last person you would ever think to do these things, and the most caring man, really. We have been together for 12 years, but the last year and a half has been so damaging. He just got diagnosed with BPD, quiet/self-destruction one. So, while that is a relief, that we now have answers, I'm terrified of what my future looks like for myself and my girls. I just pray we can make it through but this thought lingers in my head and is it me thinking the worst? mentally preparing? I don't want five years to pass and think it was a waste of time but also know, I have to be patient now that we have answers and him wanting to get better and do the work... just fearful I guess.. of all the things...

Would love to hear positive stories of whether your partner got better and healed, came out the other side, or how leaving changed your life for the better, that the kids will be ok, all of it <3

Intimacy real or extreme?

Husband came out of a hypomania phase almost a month ago and was a rough month, that’s for sure. We’re working on healing and new medical team. Anyway, we just got intimate for first time in a long time but couldn’t help but worry the whole time: is this really him? Is this hypomania? Does he only want it to experience those highs? .. how do you know??

I might be feeling sensitive about it because I only caught the mania phase he was hiding for over a year as phases would include OF spending, unprescribed medication, etc.. :(

This is a new diagnosis for us and waiting for actual diagnosis but learning a lot about it thanks to this thread and books.

Anyone have trust, happy marriage?

After a really hard time, are any of you in a trusting and happy marriage where you actually feel supported and cared for? Right now, I feel so alone in the navigation of all this and extremely hurt. I’m unsure if I’ll ever come out of it. I have two young kids under 3 and worried for our future 😭 a lot of grief…
