CME Group CEO says Perps are only useful for leverage and may cause the next financial crisis

A bit dramatic from the incumbents. He's not wrong that perps only usefulness is leverage, but seems dramatic to believe this is a dangerous cascading point to a 2008/2009 scenario. If that were true we should be banning the trading of 0dtes.

Personally i believe this is simply the evolution of leveraged products. From options, to 3x etfs, to 0dtes, and now perps.
