Regarding missing items:

Ran a recursive filesearch tool on Scrap Mechanic v1.0 drilling thunder, the following blocks exist within the files (and therefore are likely in survival but not implemented in creative yet):

  • powergenerator (spin to generate batteries)
  • interactive_growbed (portable uv growbed, can grow chilli, pigment flower and cotton)

The following items are not implemented: (no relevant files found)

  • plasma saw

Reply to this post for any other items that is missing and I'll try to find it.

Increase FPS by at least 25% with KSP performance mod: RenderScale

In order to squeeze some more frames and ram out of ksp, I've finished this mod so that the render scale setting is exposed. This mod allows you to edit the render scale so you can have smoother gameplay (CPU bottlenecks not affected).

By reducing the render scale to 80%, there is no noticeable difference in how the game looks but it reduces GPU load by ~20%. 60% render scale is barely noticable and also worth it.

Does not have any conflicts with graphics mods.

Tested with same mod profile from before on Intel Iris Xe

Results (Resolution 1280 by 720, FPS capped at 60):

Scene: Render Scale: Average GPU load: Average FPS: FPS increase:
Menu 100% 100% Uncapped, ~40 Base
Menu 800% 64% Uncapped, ~52 30%
Menu 60% 45% Uncapped, ~60 50%
KSC 100% 100% 38 Base
KSC 80% 100% 44 16%
KSC 60% 100% 51 34%
Flight 100% 100% 26 Base
Flight 80% 100% 31 20%
(Capped) Flight 60% 78% 36 (capped) 38% (- GPU load)

Known issues:

  • In the flight scene, TUFX's motion blur sometimes bleeds onto the screen, making the screen blurry, however that may be a issue with my memory optimiser.
  • World space buttons (like the menu screen) are broken, but doesn't affect gameplay. In all cases, ksp has keybinds or UI buttons that work normally.
  • Target vessel indicators are displayed incorrectly.
  • Some render scale percentages may cause screen artifacts (likely to rounding).

Graphicsmaxxing on a laptop with integrated graphics

CPU: I5 1135G7
GPU: Integrated, Intel Iris Xe
RAM: 16 GB, dual channel

Ram is the major limitation here since Deferred rendering requires more ram usage for G-buffers. By playing in the lowest resolution, I can afford to spare more space for graphics mods. Additionally, I also had to custom build a tool that constantly scans memory usage and aggressively pages/purges unused ram so that there is enough free ram for volumetric clouds. If you're on windows, try the latest release of WinMemoryCleaner and set it to automatically free usage.

I'm surprised at how well it works. Averaging ~34 fps during flight (looks smooth enough to me), CPU is perfectly fine but GPU is being slightly overloaded.

Settings are at lowest (except terrain detail at high), but reflections are turned to low.

Gotta save my Kerbals. Any means necessary, lol.

Instead of pressing H for 20 minutes, I found my scissors have enough weight to H pressed! And now we wait...

Any day now...

+Volumetric clouds, EVE and Scatterer in first 2 pics, fps drops to ~30.

>40 frames on an Intel Iris Xe, i5-1135G7 and 16GB ram. Low-mid settings with deferred, TURD, TUFX and Stock Waterfall.
