FREE Adoption – I never thought I'd have to write this... Looking to rehome my 2½-month-old German Shepherd

I honestly don't know how to start this because I already feel guilty enough.

I've been going through one of the darkest periods of my life, and all I wanted was a dog to keep me company. I've always been an animal lover. I feed the indie dogs in my area whenever I can, and I've even rescued street kittens and found them loving homes.

Truthfully, I wanted to adopt an indie. My dad refused. He's always been a breed lover and said, "If we're getting a dog, it'll be a big breed like a German Shepherd or a Dobermann. Otherwise, we're not getting one at all." He kept telling me not to worry because he'd take full responsibility. Our family has had dogs before—German Shepherds, Dobermanns, and even cared for indie dogs—so I believed him.

I was desperate for an emotional support companion, so I said yes.

Then we brought home this beautiful 2½-month-old pure imported German Shepherd.

But after he came home, everything changed. My dad didn't take responsibility like he promised. Suddenly I was the one cleaning pee and poop, wiping him after accidents, constantly watching him, and trying to figure everything out. I've never raised a puppy before. I was completely unprepared, and I quickly realized I had made a huge mistake.

Please don't think I don't love him. I do. That's exactly why this hurts so much.

Every time he looks at me or falls asleep beside me, I feel like I'm letting him down. But keeping him when I know I can't give him the life he deserves would be even more unfair.

I'm not a bad person. I genuinely love animals. That's why I feed strays, why I've rescued kittens, and why I'm making this decision now instead of waiting until things get worse.

I'm looking for someone who already understands German Shepherds and can give him the time, training, love, and stable home he deserves.
