Arti updates moving forward

Good morning everyone ☀️
Unfortunately the mods have decided to remove all my posts about Arti due to crowd funding (thank you mods for letting me have the posts up for 4 days, we were able to hit 10k views and raise 1.5k towards his CT!!)

If anyone would like to follow his journey or have updates, I’m going to stick with using TikTok because now I’m unsure if anything I post about Arti will be deleted from this subreddit.

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. It’s been very appreciated ❤️

Arti Update #2

Second day in his little nebuliser box and he’s already settling in so much better. He gets comfy quicker and seems a lot less worried about the whole routine now.

I’m hoping to hear from the vet today about whether cryptococcus has been confirmed - I’ll update everyone the moment I know more. His little nare has been pretty crusty, so I’ve been doing gentle clean‑ups a few times a day like the vet recommended. He’s such a patient boy about it, still bright, still eating, still being his sweet little self.

He’s also been extra cuddly lately. Even though he’s only been part of our family for a couple of months, we’ve bonded so much. His favourite spot is tucked right under my chin or snuggled into my cheek getting scratches before dosing of to sleep 😴

We are blown away with support, we are now 3/4 the way to getting Arti his CT scan!! Thank you all for cheering him on, donating and sending love his way 🩵

Update #1 on Arti

I wanted to thank everyone for all of the support we have received, whether that be through donations, sharing, boosting the post or even just commenting to show support and having Arti in your thoughts. I have now picked up Artis new medication, a box and a nebuliser and he will start his Acetylcysteine today.

Arti’s vet called today with a new development. After examining the sample from his nasal flush under the microscope, they are now suspecting a fungal infection called cryptococcus. This isn’t confirmed yet, so the nasal wash fluid is being sent to the lab for specialised testing. If it comes back positive, Arti will need several months of antifungal treatment, including both topical and oral medications, and because avian cases are so rare, the vets will need to reference cat and dog medical research to guide his treatment plan.

They also confirmed that Arti will need a CT scan. This will help them understand how far the infection has spread, whether there are deeper sinus or structural issues, and whether his eye is at risk. The CT is essential for making the right treatment decisions moving forward.

Even with all of this, the vet said he genuinely believes in Arti. He’s still bright, cheeky, and in good spirits and they commented on how well he’s being cared for. They said he has a strong, supportive family behind him and if there’s one bird who can push through something like this, it’s him. The vet was also blown away by the support in this community and how much we have managed to raise already to go towards his CT and medical care. Again, thank you from Arti and his flock (myself, my fiance and my 2 young children who love him dearly).

Help me save by baby Arti

Hello 💛 I just wanted to share something really close to my heart, I was unsure if this was allowed on this subreddit but it wasn’t clear in the community rules, I apologise if it’s not.

My baby Quaker, Arti, is going through a tough time after several vet visits. He was sold to me already sick with E. coli and other bacteria, and despite everything I do, the vet bills are piling up. If you’re able to help, even just by sharing, it would mean a lot. Thank you so much.
