I've been facing a "tik-tik" noise on my Scrambler 400X. I took it to the service center, and they opened the front chain sprocket cover and also checked/opened something under the rear seat. After that, the noise disappeared.
However, they told me it's a common issue. If that's the case, I don't want to keep visiting the service center every time this happens and waste time and money.
Does anyone know:
What exactly causes this tik-tik noise?
What did the service center likely do to fix it?
Is there a permanent fix, or is it something that can be done at home with basic tools?
Would really appreciate any insights from owners who've faced the same issue. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I recently ran into an issue with my Triumph Scrambler 400X and would really appreciate some advice.
The bike was parked from Friday without being used. When I turned the ignition on, everything seemed normal:
- Fuel pump primes normally.
- Headlights and display stay bright.
- But when I press the starter, I only hear a single "tik-tik" click and the engine doesn't crank at all.
Kindly provide a solution as Service centre is 140 kms from my hometown.
Registered for the World of Triumph Pune Edition at Pune Kartdrome on 13th June. Mainly going to check out and test ride the Street Triple (trying very hard not to make bad financial decisions 😅)
