(33) 2 years difference and some self loving/excercise

Hi everyone,

Had been struggling with self love and my mental health for quite a number of years and couldn't look in to a mirror without feeling some sadness.

Decided to pick tennis back up (hence the picture theme) as well as running and cleaning up my diet and my brain doesn't feel blurred nearly as often.

Aim is to keep it going and never allow myself to drop to that state of mind ever again.

My friend wanted some sporty shots for his portfolio hence the professional looking pics 😅

M/33/181cm [105kg > 70kg = 35kg lost] (19 months) Through tennis, running and a little bit of gym work

Hi everyone,

Just posting here as I had been struggling with my weight for a number of years, maybe 4 or 5. Took around 19 months in total, mostly lost through tennis but it amped up a lot recently when I started running.

Main reason I started was mental health was really bad, I couldnt be as active with my children and generally just felt awful. People kept telling me excercise is natural cure and it really has been for me.

Dieting obviously was also a huge part of it.

Sabotaged by Zig zagging child 😆

Today was running a park run, and as I was trying to get past the crowd a child zigged and then zagged so I dodged, ran in to a bollard and went absolutely flying.

Powered through but good lord I slid on gravel on my knee and the road rash is now stinging like absolutely crazy 😆 Fun though!

Chester Half Marathon 🏃‍♂️

Ridiculously fun event day. First time Ive ran a half marathon at an event (I've ran a few beforehand) and I couldnt have enjoyed it more.the atmosphere was unreal but more importantly the support from everyone too.

Chest infection did make it pretty difficult early on but seemed to clear up. Definitely signing up for more 😁

Half marathon in Chester, such a good vibe

Hi all,

First time I've ran a half marathon at an organised event/race and it was in Chester. I cant believe how fun it was. The vibe and positivity, everyone calling out for you to keep on going and waiting for high fives.

Great turn out too nearly 8000 people.

I've not managed to run much past few weeks due to injury and then had to run today with the remnants of a chest infection (I nearly pulled out).

Definitely signing up for more, just for the atmosphere alone.

The pacing is all kinds of messed up, I'd still be there 😅

Hi all,

Just wanted to share. Post covid was reslly struggling in a strained relationship, with my weight and my general mental health. It took until 2024 to finally make a change.

Ive focused massively on cleaning up my diet and fitness through things like the gym, running and tennis. In total I've lost 35 kg. But more importantly my self esteem and mental health has sky rocketed.

Its also nice to not feel shattered after a single flight of stairs.

Hi all,

So post covid I was struggling a lot with depression and a relationship that was no longer healthy. It took me a while to finally make the push to change.

In 2024 I finally did so through mostly tennis and recently running and I'm feeling so much happier.

Nice to be able to walk up stairs without feeling like death.
