Think about this: RH Groove is releasing in just a few weeks, so why would Nintendo still not reveal the name of the most important character in the game? This, combined with the fact that her voice is a TTS, it would make sense if players were able to input their own name for her and have she could actually say it out loud.

This also adds up with the new Tomodachi Life, since the Miis can already say custom names and even inappropriate words without issue.

I also think this could work because Chimpún is a robot. In-universe, she could be some kind of programmable assistant. Maybe she belongs to an entire line of robots designed to help people work in rhythm, and the Chimpún we know is simply the player’s own personalized version of that product line.

I know this sounds crazy, especially since we have little-to-no information about Chimpún, but I came up with this idea and I think it makes sense.
