Returning to work

My kids are all in school now (its so bittersweet) and I really need to get back to work asap as Im a newly single mom. Does anyone have recommendations for going back after so long? I haven't received a single call and Ive submitted a ton of applications. I don't have a degree and even though I had a ton of experience its been nearly two decades. Or any independent contractor jobs that you do as a side hustle, maybe that would help pad my resume a bit so there isn't such a huge obvious gap? I'm not sure though, any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

YT fake conservationists

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but my kids were watching a few youtubers that were obviously fake conservationists. One claims to own a conservation but then I heard them talking about getting an animal from a breeder. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any legitimate sites I could turn to as I don't want to be supporting people that are harming or exploiting animals for views. Its so hard to find legitimate videos out there, I feel like they're all scams. Any suggestions?

Running off/not listening

My 6yo doesnt listen to me or his sisters half the time. If he sees a friend outside he iust takes off! We're moving (not far, he'll still see friends) and he ran across the street to the park when we were about to leave to move some things to the new place. Everyone was waiting on him and he was oblivious. He told me he was going to go when I said we had to leave.

I talk to him and explain things, tell him about the dangers of leaving without trusted adults/siblings. I've taken his bike away, pretty much permanently at this point, bc I can't trust him on it & he rides in the street trying to be like the older boys (that still dart out in front of cars just as oblivious at 10-13yo!!). If he doesn't listen I take him inside and don't let him go back out that day unless he's incredibly well behaved and helps out around the house, in which case I'II let him play for an hour or so after dinner, basically for my own sanity and so I can work (I sell hand knit items like socks & hats).

All the kids around here (ages 5-12) just run around every day from dusk til dawn with no parents, even to the lake & into the woods, its insane!!! So my son sees all this and wants to do exactly what they do and I'm like heck no, all your friends come to me, who would you go to?! Maybe I'm overprotective, but it seems crazy to let 6-8yo kids wander all day with no supervision. I've raised all my kids the same and my teenage girls have never been like this, I've never had to ground them or take things away and they're amazing, they listen & respect me, and even each other most days.

Handspun socks on CSM

Looking for some advice... I'm hoping to spin sock yarn to use on my CSM but want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I've used some handspun on my flatbed before but I just 3d printed a CSM and would love to use it on that too. Planning on 80/20 merino and nylon but curious which others people prefer for socks. My girls are really sensitive so it needs to be really soft but they're also rough on socks. My son isnt as picky and the worst with holes so I could use a more sturdy blend for his. And would chain plying be the best way? I'm still somewhat of a beginner & love chain plying. Sorry for so many questions, just haven't seen a ton of info out there. Thanks!
