Made this golden out of wool. Did I get the smile right?

Fits in my hand, still looks like it’s waiting for a treat 😂

Here’s my wool version next to the reference photos. I wanted to capture that happy face, especially the way the mouth curves around the little tongue.

There’s a side view too, so you can see the wavy coat and fluffy chest. The last photo shows the finished piece under its glass dome.

What do you think, does it have the same expression? I’ve been looking at them side by side for so long, I’d love a fresh pair of eyes!

Spent 5 tries getting Winnie’s cloudy eyes right (25cm needle-felted Pomeranian)

Finished this 25cm needle-felted Pomeranian sculpture of Winnie.

The eyes were definitely the hardest part of this piece. Since Winnie has cataracts, I wanted to recreate that soft, cloudy appearance while still keeping the warmth and expression that makes her recognizable.

I remade the eyes around 4–5 times before I felt they matched her properly. It’s always the smallest details that take the most time, but they’re also what make a piece feel personal.

Really happy with how this little portrait came together. 🤍

My latest needle-felted wolfdog project.

After many hours of shaping, layering wool, trimming, and refining details, this Czechoslovakian Wolfdog commission is finally complete.

The hardest (and most enjoyable) part was capturing the contrast that makes this breed so special — that wolf-like face and alert expression, but with the warmth and softness of a beloved companion.

I especially loved working on the eyes. They have that focused, intelligent look that feels like they’re always observing everything around them.

The long legs, upright ears, unique coat markings, and that little happy tongue were all small details that helped bring this personality out of the wool.

A little wool, a lot of patience, and one very serious supervisor later…

A little wolf spirit, felt into life

This one was such a fun challenge.

I spent a lot of time working on the face because those little details are what bring a pet to life — the shape of the eyes, the expression, the markings, and even the tiny tongue sticking out. 😄

The hardest part is always trying to capture not only the appearance, but also the feeling of the animal.

Seeing it slowly come together from plain wool into this little wolfdog has been such a rewarding process.

Hope you enjoy seeing the finished piece as much as I enjoyed making it. 🤍

A little wool version of Maisy.Capturing the personality behind the photos

This is Maisy — a 15cm needle-felted sculpture created from her photos.

When creating a pet portrait, the goal is never just to recreate the colors and patterns. Every pet has something special that makes them who they are — a certain expression, a unique feature, or a small detail that only their family would recognize.

For Maisy, it was her soft, sleepy expression, fluffy cheeks, and that little notch in her ear that made her instantly recognizable. There’s something so gentle and peaceful about her face, and capturing those little details in wool became the most important part of this piece.

The gray fur, white chest, and warm orange patches were carefully layered with different shades of wool to match Maisy’s unique markings. But the smallest details often matter the most — the shape of her eyes, the little notch in her ear, and the way her fluffy coat naturally frames her face.

Needle felting is a slow and delicate process. A simple piece of wool slowly transforms through countless tiny needle strokes, until a familiar expression begins to appear. Watching a pet’s personality emerge from soft fibers is always the most rewarding part of this craft.

Maisy is a reminder of how much character and love our pets bring into our lives. Even a wool sculpture can hold so much warmth, memories, and the feeling of the beloved companion it was inspired by. 🤍

My most intense “client supervision” yet

Working on a needle-felted Czechoslovakian Wolfdog commission, and I think this might be my most serious supervisor yet…

Every step of the process feels like I’m being watched very closely — especially when I’m shaping the face. The reference photos are basically staring straight into my soul the entire time.

It’s still a work in progress, but even at the wool stage, the personality is already starting to come through. Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs are always a bit tricky for me — getting that balance between wolf-like sharpness and dog-like softness, without losing likeness, is such a fun challenge.

Trying to capture all that Bichon fluff in wool

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a 15cm needle-felted Bichon Frise I made.

One of the most enjoyable parts was working on the coat. Bichons have such soft, fluffy curls, so I built up lots of thin layers of wool to create that light, cloud-like texture. I also spent quite a bit of time adjusting the face to capture the gentle, sweet expression that's so characteristic of the breed.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. Seeing all the small details come together and watching the piece gradually take on the dog's personality is always my favorite part of the process.

Sometimes the quirkiest little features are the most important ones to capture.

Look at that charming little face!

This custom full-body needle felt portrait was created to celebrate all the little details that make Benji uniquely himself. His slightly protruding jaw, playful expression, and the gentle outward tilt of his right front leg were carefully recreated by hand—because those aren't imperfections at all. They're part of his story.

The goal wasn't to make Benji look "perfect." It was to capture the familiar face his family knows and loves.

One detail that was especially enjoyable to recreate was his signature jawline. His mouth was designed to be gently adjustable by hand, allowing it to open and close naturally while bringing even more of his personality to life.

The smallest details often hold the biggest memories. They're the features that make family members smile, laugh, and instantly think, "That's so Benji."

Every pet has little quirks, expressions, and characteristics that make them completely unique. Preserving those details is what makes a portrait truly meaningful.

Another little furry friend brought to life in wool. ❤️ Hope Benji brings a smile to your feed today.

Tiny Jake, recreated in wool

Look at that charming little face!

I wanted to share this custom full-body needle felt mini portrait of a brave little soul named Jake.

Every detail was carefully recreated in wool—from his silver-grey coat and those wonderfully oversized ears to his signature one-eyed gaze and the tiny tongue that always seems to peek out.

More than making a miniature version of Jake, I wanted to capture the personality that makes him so special. His alert expression, his resilience, and all those little quirks that made him instantly recognizable were the details I focused on most.

There's something incredibly rewarding about turning a beloved pet into a tiny keepsake. Even though this piece is small enough to fit in your hand, it feels like so much of Jake's character is packed into it.

And honestly, every now and then I catch it from the corner of my eye and do a double take. 😂

Another tiny furry friend shared from meetcosmoss. Hope dear Jake brings a smile to your feed today. ❤️

Forever a tiny pocket pal. 🖤 One of these is Shkoda… and one is made entirely of wool.

Look at those ears!

I wanted to share this custom needle felt portrait of a chinchilla named Shkoda. Every little detail was recreated in wool, from the glossy black fur and tiny paws to the delicate whiskers and subtle shading inside those oversized ears.

The goal wasn't just to make a miniature version of Shkoda, but to capture the personality that makes him so special. That curious expression, those iconic ears, and all that fluffy charm were the details I wanted to preserve.

There's something really heartwarming about seeing a beloved pet transformed into a tiny keepsake. Even at this size, it feels like so many memories and so much personality can be packed into one little piece.

And honestly, from certain angles, the realism still catches me off guard for a second. 😂
