CAN DRAGONS CROSS BREED?????????

I JUST THOUGHT ABOUT THIS: WHAT IF DRAGONS CAN CROSSBREED??? Like ik Night and Light Furies can 'crossbreed,' but that's not what I mean; they have a similar ancestor and are very closely related in terms of genetics. Would it be possible to have a cross between a Nadder and a Gronckle or a Snow Wraith and a Nightmare?

Imagine all the cool breeds we could have.

Does anyone have any canon answers to this or theory they'd like to share? I'd love to explore this because it actually seems like it could open up a whole new realm of "who were the first dragons" and how all the dragons came to be. What if the reason Night Furies are all dead isn't because of Grimmle and they actually die out because of a disease or something? (We all know Grimmle didn't kill jack, worst villain in the entire multiverse.)

Can dragons get diseases? I mean, what if the whole reason we barely see any new breeds outside the shows is that they've mostly died out due to not being able to genetically adapt, or what if they bred out the bad parts (ik, bad place to take this, but they're animals so it's technically possible).

Js a random thought I had because I misread a line in a fanfic lol, lmk what y'all think.

Fanfic recommendation (M-Rated)

On Wattpad, it goes by "The Gift Of Power" by TriumphantFury. Been reading it for a couple hours now and its 3:30am and I got work in a few hours but imma js pull an all nighter because it's so amazing. If any1 doesn't want to see the 'scenes', the author does a decent job of forewarning it and doesn't really go too deep into it.

Great plot and writing so far, and it's a trilogy, so it's gonna be a good long read. Enjoy!

(yes im aware this fic has been recommended a billion times, but it's worth it)

Are Astrid's parents dead?

We've NEVER heard from Astrid's parents, and they weren't included in the wedding scene, and she never mentions them, so it begs the question: were they killed in dragon raids, or did something happen? Any1 got a good fanfic that follows that idea?

The live-action was mid at best

Let me explain- well, let me pull up facts. Let's start with Astrid, probably a worse casting than Annabeth in Percy Jackson. Yes, the actress herself was great, but they couldn't put on a wig? 150 MILLION dollars and they couldn't afford a $20 wig. The casting for the twins was off compared to the entire franchise, and they all seemed so much older than they were in the animations. The only decent castings (accuracy-wise) were Hiccup and Snotlout. I mean, they did Fishlegs so dirty :(; my king's head was so off.

I know that's all nitpicking on the castings, but here's where I start to really dislike the live-action: the dragons animations. If you look at the live-action, they make it look like the dragons are newborns and don't know how to walk. They had Toothless tripping over himself every 5 seconds even though he can walk perfectly fine in the films without his fin. The dragons in general just didn't look good, with the exception of Fanghook and Toothless.

Test Drive: they use it in every scene; the song was amazing and still is, obviously, but they ruined Hiccup's "Test Drive" scene; it didn't feel the same whatsoever. I genuinely didn't even realize it was happening because I'd heard it so much before that.

Something decent they did was use the same dialogue. Ik some people hated this, and I do too for parts of it, but I feel like it's not horrible and didn't need to be changed.

I know y'all have probably read this about a billion times, BUT THEY TOOK OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT SCENE: Toothless blowing into the mouth of the Terrible Terror. And then they have him defeat the Red Death the EXACT same way. This legit just makes it look like a complete guess, and if they added 30 minutes of screentime, how did they miss that giant piece of information?

I wholeheartedly believe the live-action was just made for people who don't want to admit they like animated films. It's legit a watered-down piece of shit that tries to be word-for-word accurate and still fails. Instead of giving us what 7/8ths of the community wants, they decide to go ahead and make another remake instead of working on a 4th movie or a series in between 2-3

Chris Sanders: What two movies did he make? What two movies had the most hate? Coincidence? I think not. For those of you who don't know who Chris Sanders is, he wrote and directed the first movie and produced the second; he stopped working with the franchise before the third film, and we can all see how that went. I wholeheartedly believe that if he were still a part of the team, they would've made more movies without the Hidden Worlds ending.

Kinda struck on time, so imma end with this, in the wise words of Douglas Adams: "All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others." I am correct, and anyone who disagrees is wrong (ragebait). But actually, opinions are great because we all have them and we don't have to agree. This is my take on the film; maybe you enjoyed it, and all the more to you; I just can't.

Better ending for THW

Hot take: if the light fury wasn’t able to save Hiccup and he died, I genuinely would’ve liked that ending more than what we got. I feel like there’s so much they could expand off of from there, like Toothless not being able to leave, the rest of the dragons staying because of that. Revenge arc, etc etc. I just feel like there’s so many better ways they could’ve ended the movie

STOP THESE LARPERS

ISTG, ALL WE'VE GOTTEN FROM THE LIVE-ACTION ARE LARPERS. Half of these ppl don't even know Fanghook, let alone the first thing about any of the series 💔. Seen like 4 edits of the live-action, and on one of them the OP was legit asking what "sticks and stones" was like, bro; it's not even uncommon ball. Another one was asking who the Red Death was, BRO, LEGIT THE MAIN VILLAIN OF THE DAMN MOVIE... larpers gotta be silenced

THW ending was kinda bad but it was redeemed.

Mild take: THW ending wasn't the best. Berkians and dragons alike went their own ways, even though they had been thicker than blood for numerous years. I didn't love it, and I know a plethora of people who didn't either. Besides the point, I think the whole concept of "learning to let go" was really stupid. Yes, it's a lesson that had to be learnt, but I feel as if learning it then and there was a bad time. Homecoming, I feel, redeemed the ending of THW because it allowed the viewers to understand that the dragons weren't fully gone; rather, they watched over new erk in the shadows.

Still, I feel like it defeats the whole purpose of THW because the dragons were supposed to stay down there, safe and away from all humans because of hunters. If they were just gonna come up regardless, then wouldn't it make the most sense for them to just coexist with the Vikings? Also, after years of no hunters or "bad guys," as far as we know on our end, wouldn't it also be safe to say that the dragons could peacefully migrate back into the lives of the Vikings?

(edit) Js wanted to add this rq: my brothers car is close to 40-45k after taxes, mine we got for 3k. my parents wont allow me to buy my own car as the one i have is "good enough" even if i pay for everything, including all insurance, car payments (even if i buy it cash), or and gas.

me (16m) and my brother (17, almost 18m) havent always gotten along the best. but its your typical sibling relationship where we js dont like each other, not much more. I recently turned 16 around 3 weeks ago and a few days ago my parents got me my first car, a 2014 accura rdx with 200k miles and too many problems (cosmetic and mechanical) to list. Now, normally I would be very grateful, and I am, for a car; however, my parents got my brother a 2024, brand new honda accord with 0 miles when he was 16 for about a month. the worst part isnt even that, my brother says its not favoritism even though it obviously is, they paid for him to go to some high class driving school while i got a $100 "parent" taught online drivers ed course (parent in quotes because i did everything myself), i have to pay for my own gas and he doesnt, i have to pay half my car insurance and he doesn't, he's allowed to be out of the house whenever, he can do whatever he wants, i have to be home at 10pm, i have to ask to go out even if its down the street or even to school i have to make sure im allowed to go first. its genuinely so fucking stupid. and to add onto that, hes never at home so i have to step up and do all his chores that he never does along with my own, i do half the houses cleaning/dishes/cat shit, everything. he comes home at 1am on average and he leaves at 8-9am.

and the reason i really js dont like the car in general is bcs it cant go above 50 without sounding like its gonna break down more than it does when going even 20, it takes about 20 seconds to start up and thats after a brand new oil change and everything being checked out.

tbh i feel like im kinda posting this js to make myself not feel like an ass for hating them bcs its not like they outwardly adress this stuff and i feel like its kinda building up with the ever growing lack of help im getting from my family
