Was at a wedding in Cancun this past weekend, wore my Watchdives Pelagos-style watch, had a bunch of guys in the wedding come up and say “wow nice Tudor” or “that’s a good looking watch.”

After thanking them, I explained it wasn’t actually a Tudor, but a Watchdives brand piece. They all looked at me like I was literally speaking Chinese, saying they’d never heard of it.

Mind you, most of the guys at this wedding were rocking really nice Rolex submariners, omega seamasters, Tudor black bays, one guy even had a beautiful full-gold day date. Most of them are either in finance, sales, or higher ups in construction. By the end of the weekend, every guy but 1 told me they were all fake and their daily drivers.
That 1 guy had a gen 90’s black sub (beautiful) and he had also loaned the groom his black bay 58 for the wedding (also amazing and a kind act). The resort wasn’t great, but I was like a kid in a candy store seeing so many watches at the resort.
