Banana bread got a little freaky in the air fryer

When I opened the air fryer after it finished, I felt like I was walking in on something private that cannot be unseen.

A fail to load the baking cups with the correct amount, but they were still delicious.

Takayama Reccommendations

My husband (native Japanese) and I are going on a 2 day/2 night trip to Takayama from Tokyo where we live.

Besides what we can find easily online, are there any must-see spots or hidden gems? We are bringing our yukata and love nature and old stuff. Any place that would enhance the yukata experience?

Any restaurant recommendations would be greatly appreciated as well (I'm pescatarian and he's an "everything-atarian" 😂)

Also, any ideas of where to stop for lunch or pit-stops along the way? We will be driving our car from West Tokyo. He doesn't like driving long trips, so we want to break it up in smaller chunks.

We already have a loose idea of where to go based on internet searches, but it'll be our first time in Gifu, so we want to know if anyone who has been there has any suggestions. None of our friends that we have asked have been there before, so hence Reddit.

ありがとうございます! Thank you! 🙇🏻‍♀️

Another ER round or straight to FET?

Hi there! We just got our third round PGTA results and are both a little torn about what to do.

So from our second round, we have one euploid. This third round we got 1 euploid, and 2 mosaics. The doctor said the mosaics can potentially be used for transfer, but have a lower success rate.

So now we have 2 euploids, and 2 mosaics.

We really wanted to get at least 3 euploids before trying FET, but now I'm wondering what to do.

Just a little background info: I'm 38, but will be turning 39 in early August. I have rather low AMH at about 0.8, and my husband has a rather high DNA fragmentation at 31%, but has very high sperm count and motility. We used the Zymot for this past round and would use it again for any other rounds, if needed. Also our first round was untested and led to a chemical pregnancy, so I can implant!

I'm currently visiting family abroad and won't be back until August, and so would start our next phase in late August when my period comes. Also, we only want one child. We also have to pay everything out of pocket because insurance won't cover any of the process if we decide to do PGTA testing, so this can be quite pricey.

Here are the options we thought of:

Option A: do another ER round in September (earliest possible timing). FET in October regardless of whether or not we get another euploid.

Option B: try the FET with the euploids we have already in September, and if they don't stick then go back for another ER in November or December.

Option C: Try the FET in September, and if both euploids don't stick, then try the mosaics and hope for the best. If nothing sticks, then we would have to wait 4-5 months to do another ER.

I know that mosaics can result in healthy live births, but I'm just worried if nothing sticks then my eggs will be even older during the potential next ER timing.

I'm really struggling with what to do. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Dealing with Pregnancy Announcements

So, I have a community of friends at church, and within the last month, three women who are close to me have made announcements that they are pregnant.

Two of the women privately messaged me about it before making the announcement because they knew about my IVF journey and wanted to make sure I wasn't blindsided.

I'll admit that the first two announcements, I subdued my own feelings and expressed nothing but joy for them. However, the third one (my closest friend of all three) really broke me. As soon as I got the text, I immediately started crying. Although my sadness doesn't take away from my joy for them, it just makes me realize how much I want to be a mother.

My husband and I just finished our third ET, and are awaiting PGTA results for our 5 embryos. I still have about another two weeks to wait. If we are able to get at least two more euploids, then we can start trying to transfer in September after returning from a long vacation abroad.

I'm just wondering, how do you cope with pregnancy announcements around you? Especially if the people are close to you?

I feel guilty for feeling sad because I don't want them to feel as if their happy occasion makes anyone feel anything but joy.

I just need hugs 🫂
