Quick update on Nen Archive, the Hunter x Hunter quiz/wiki/ability-builder site. The accounts system just turned into an actual community due to your requests.

The Hunter Feed is open. Anyone can post and comment now, theories, chapter reactions, arguments about who wins, whatever you want. A discussion thread shows up automatically whenever a new chapter drops, so you're not hunting around for where everyone's talking about it.

You can make your profile. Which now links your Nen category results automatically.

There are 77 badges now too. Streaks, quiz mastery, XP progression, abilities you've built, and a few secret ones. Pick ones you fancy and add it to your name.

Note: For those who have created their nen abilities already and would like to link them to your account, please DM me through the website - with the email that you set up your account in. I will give you all 2 days to contact me; otherwise, the abilities on the website will still be safe but will be kept as legacy-created abilities.

A large update on the next step for the website (1.1). First, for all those who have checked out and interacted with the website, thank you! And even more, thank you for giving me constructive criticism. I have gone through all the notes and fixed minor and major bugs.

Now we come to the new ability creation page!

Here you can create your own ability after completing the quiz and battle it amongst other public abilities. I have called it the ''VS Battles''. It will give you results to follow from your quiz. But you can always ignore it and create your own ability anyway using your preferred categories. Where the public can vote on the creativity of the ability.

I have made the conscious decision to only allow a maximum of 3 other categories from your main attunement if you want that freedom of choice to force you to be creative.

Vows & Conditions - and its star system

To put it simply, the star system is how you categorise the severity of your vows; 1 star could mean it is minimal severity, and 5 stars mean heavy restrictions. This adds to creating a rank for your ability, BUT! that does not mean you have a stronger ability; it means you have followed your main categories more closely and made an ability that suits compliments you. But the choice is yours: be creative within your categories or leave them altogether and be reborn anew.

Another note is that the website doesn't create the ability for you; you have to come up with it by yourself. The scoring system I have implemented and the small guides are aimed at new fans of HXH so they can use it as a helping hand when navigating this section of the website. You can feel free to ignore them or use them to gamify the process (which is what it is meant for).

Note: The website still works anonymously to protect your data, as well as making the website accessible to anyone without having to have logins and creating accounts (it is also expensive:), meaning if you reset your browser, you will lose your saved progress and results, but your inputs from your quiz and abilities are still saved to the overall website (still anonymous). This also means the abilities you write are public, just like on Reddit. Since the website has no accounts, It also means you can't edit or remove them later. This is unfortunately a sacrifice that needs to be made. You can always contact me through dm to make some changes; please have a note of your abilities, names or categories

If you have thoughts about having an account, or you'd be more satisfied as it is now, let me know; I will note them down.

Again, to reiterate, the battles are not about who would win, but more about creativity, flexibility, and overall originality. You can also use this website as the layout when designing an ability for this subreddit. That is mainly why I made it.

Hi everyone, I've been working on a Hunter x Hunter project called Nen Archive for a the last 4 months and I think it's finally at a point where I can share it.

WHAT IT IS It's a Nen test, but I tried to build it off Togashi's actual category spectrum instead of just doing a "which character are you" type quiz. You answer a set of questions, it maps you on the hexagram chart, and you get your main category plus a leaning type.

There are a few other things on the site too:
✦ A 3D chart explorer with 600+ characters plotted on the spectrum, you can click the nodes and see how everyone clusters together.
✦ A character wiki with 600+ profiles and classification tags.
✦ A world atlas / lexicon for the canon Nen terminology and how the categories interact.
✦ A global registry, which is basically a live heatmap of everyone's results by country, age group and gender. Honestly this one turned out to be my favourite part.
✦ And finally a quiz that stores 600 questions and ''accurately'' summarises your results.

ABOUT THE LEANING TYPE
This is the thing people ask me about the most so I'll explain it properly here. Your leaning type isn't random, it's entirely influenced by your result.

If you look closely at the chart, the lines connecting the categories have a red dot at the halfway point of each one. Meaning the closer your pin is to the red dot, the more you are dipping heavily into that category. And the closer it is to your own main category, the more your abilities are suited within your own category. The lines are divided by a 100 point system. If your pin lands on the red dot 🔴 (50 points) that means you are using exactly your full proficiency at that leaning category, or you can also interpret that as you have an ability that drops into that category with your full proficiency of it (80%).

Example: Conjuration 100% leaning Transmuter. Landing on the dot means you'd have an ability sitting in Transmutation at the full 80% you're capable of.

The leaning type is more of a gamified / quality of life feature that you can have a think about. I thought simply having the main category was boring.

It is also important to mention the leaning type is not necessarily the be-all and end-all, as all users have access to the other categories as per the canon HxH lore.

WHY THERE'S NO PERCENTAGES ANYMORE?

My first version had affinity percentages for a long time until I changed it to leaning types. This was mainly due to the fact that adding too many percentages diminished the importance/value of the main category result. You'd get your category and then ignore it because there were five other numbers next to it.

WHERE IT'S AT RIGHT NOW?

I'm still observing the current build and progress. And honestly, looking at the current global stats it seems to be working as it should, but I want to wait for a larger collection of results before I do any more updates to the weighting. So if you take it you're helping me tune it.

It's free (always will be & open for anyone), non-commercial, and fan made. All the characters, lore and artwork belong to Togashi and Shueisha, I'm just a big fan who went a bit too deep on this.

Hello everyone, I made a website for finding your nen category through personality tests. It uses 600 questions pool with 60 questions per quiz, and the questions are purposefully kept vague and inspired by personality quizzes. You can find it at www.nenarchive.com
You can also download your nen passport after completing the quiz with your nen category and sub-category. This is a personal project, and it is an archive of sorts.
