As a very new Team Yankee player, I have a few questions about modeling tanks and vehicles.
Are players required to build HQ vehicles with a commander in the open hatch? I'm not clear if this is an official rule or just a general practice to make identifying an HQ unit easier.
Do different vehicles in a unit need to be marked so they are distinguishable from each other? For example, if I have a unit of 3 tanks, am I required to add decal numbers so each one can be clearly identified?
I ask because photos of HQ tanks always seem to have a commander, but it also seems like people sometimes add commanders to vehicles in units as well. I don't have the full rulebook yet so I was not sure if it covers this question.
Hello! I am a brand-new Team Yankee player coming over from building and painting Battlefront World of Tanks miniatures. I just ordered the new Fulda Gap Boot Camp starter to learn the basics of the game, but I'm pretty sure I'll want to build a full army in the future, because the tank miniatures for the game look great!
I was thinking about a Soviet force, and the two tanks I know I would like to use are the T-80 since it comes with Fulda Gap, and the T-64BV because the miniature is great. So I tried building an initial casual-play list around a T-64BV platoon. Would this list be reasonably playable for a casual game? If not, what would more experienced players suggest? Again I'm not looking for cutthroat competition, just casual games with models I like. Thanks in advance.
I finished my Zaku from GQuuuuuuX! I loved the build and the poseability, but the decals were very difficult for me to place, even the waterslide decals from Delpi. However, I'm pretty happy how painting the bazooka with acrylic paint markers turned out.
I've always built gunpla kits straight out of the box, but recently I learned about waterslide decals. I tried out some Delpi decals on my GQ Rick Dom, and was pretty pleased with the results. I also posted a pic of the OOB original build for comparison.
I haven't reached the stage of painting and cementing yet, but I'm pleased to be able to try something new to add more detail to my kits now! I definitely find waterslides easier and better looking than paper or foil stickers.
