OBT discarded old molt and made Leg Soup

I didn't even realize he still had a molt in his tunnels so coming home to dismembered legs in the bowl scared the shit out of me at first 😅

Quiet, *maneuverable* vacuum good for pet hair & dust?

I have a short haired dog who sheds a lot, and a job that brings a lot of dust and dirt into my home. I don't vacuum nearly often enough because it's absolute sensory hell for me. I have a Bissell "Powerforce Helix" and I think it works fine but besides it being awkward to use in my small apartment with a lot of tight spaces, it's also just really loud.

I'm tired of my space being covered in hair and dust and decided I'm probably better off saving up for something I'll find more usable than hoping I'll wake up one morning and suddenly not have sensory issues anymore

Home is a mix of medium pile carpet and hardwood/tile, with a couple medium/low pile area rugs. The area rugs are machine washable so I'm a little less concerned about being able to vacuum those. I also usually use the little brush attachment to the vacuum hose to suck the dust off of other flat surfaces, baseboards/trim, and furniture.

Editing to include: Budget is ideally <$500, and my current space is around 600sqft, maybe 60/40 carpet/hardwood (with rugs covering some of the hardwood) though I'm only living here for another year so I don't want something *too* specialized for any particular conditions lol

Any advice is greatly appreciated :) Especially from anyone who deals with similar issues

Favorite 2 person tents that don't break the bank?

Haven't done any real backpacking/camping in well over a decade and no longer have any gear. I stopped by REI today to check out their tent selection and was really shocked to see the absolute cheapest 2 person tent was over $300. I only need enough space for myself and a 60lb dog, I likely won't be doing any backpacking trips longer than a week and am not overly concerned with the tent being as small/light as possible.

I really just want something that's affordable and good quality for the price but I'm really not even sure where to start. Which brands are still good? Which ones are charging a premium price for subpar gear? Are there reputable places I could get a used tent? I really don't want to believe saving up for months/years is the only way to get back into things. I don't need anything flashy, just ideally shit that won't break immediately

Edit to add: What's the deal with bathtub floors? It seems like a lot of tents in the $100-300 price range don't have them but significantly lower end and higher end ones do. How much do they matter? My past tents all had them and I felt like it made a huge difference with how much it rains in my area- why are they not more common? How do you keep water from getting in the bottom when it rains?

P. Rufilata in her new enclosure :)

Got this girl in a bigger enclosure recently and she really seems to be enjoying it! Lots of hiding spots and room to grow

H. Pulchripes molted into a mature male

Bonus baby pic at the end (may 2025)

The only other tarantula I've raised from a sling who turned out male, had a bad ultimate molt and passed away. I only got to see his adult form when removing his body. So as sad as it is to know this guy is shorter on time than I would have hoped, it's such a gift to be with an animal through every stage of their life ❤️

▲ 5 r/MTB

Been really wanting to find some coaching and there is just absolutely nothing in my area. The closest thing I've been able to find are a couple Ninja MTB clinics that are about 3 hours away. Supposedly for the net 9 days there's a 50% off sale that puts their 2 day clinics at $499 (yikes..). It'd be a stretch but I could make it work, financially. I just really don't want to put that much money into something if it's not worth it.

So has anyone here ever gone to one of their clinics? Knows anybody who has? Heard anything about their reputation in general?

Edit: Seems like the general consensus is that it's not worth it so I'll keep poking local folks for leads. Thanks y'all!
