Indie movie budgets crash a lot. So creative ideas for using cheap lighting are essential. Has somebody ever used a light source that's most unrelated, bizarre, and unique here?

  1. I have used tube lights that are available in Indian homes and covered them with a gel sheet to get some tones.
  2. We used reflective vessels as a light source.

These are my experiences; tell me about yours, people.

Foreshadow is a useful tool in stories and films. But anyone, found a proper method for making a foreshadowing.

As a writer i used to write foreshadow in before hand, without even knowing what it foreshadows to. Like an open line yet be drawn. But when I write something like that, it will be like an alien in the script, it even tries to harass me when I cross those pages. Then I need to make a note for those open foreshadows.

I know this is a lot of work. More useless than the works I did for my dead grandmother (Like washing her dental set for free). Then I found a way. Before I write I run the whole story or script in my mind multiple times. So when I write I can place the foreshadow well.

This will now be useful work, and not too much.

Then I placed the foreshadow that I actually worked in the environment.

Writing a foreshadow in a film is a lot easier than writing it in a book. As we can use a shot to make people notice or we can add an element or camera motion or anything. But in the book it's totally different, I need to insert it like it's not inserted. So I need to use a metaphor or something. Or try to tell an element in establishing points. People sometimes find that it is a foreshadow, easily.

If someone has a proper idea to insert a foreshadow in a book, give us an idea in the comments.

Making a Short film for the Cannes Film Festival 2027.

I have a story now, and I have a good vibe. The story would work. The short film will be about 40 secs to 1 min in time. Not more than that. So that I can enter it into the free category at Cannes. Now I have to prepare the script and screenplay, find a location, and search for the rental details. And fix a budget. 😭

With the help of the free crew (gay band = friends🥳), I can lessen the cost. I need 2 actors and a proper location. I hope the location doesn't take up my budget, or else I'll need to sell my kidney. For the camera, I will beg my college seniors as much as possible. He has a lens too, but I wanted a cine lens. Okay, then I will start to pray to God for a Cooke lens set, so he can throw one from heaven. 🙄

Then I need to scout the location and pre-shoot the shots on an iPhone to plan the lighting setup. Then calculate the lights needed. Should I rent or beg my senior? Begging is cost-efficient, so let's do it (let me do it)

After all this, I need to start production.

Post-production: no worries, I can do it all. Data management, editing, Sound engineering, DI, exporting, releasing. 😇

I will give the crew a treat at McDonald's if we are selected for screening in Cannes next year. 🥳

Planning: all of this is just manifestations. Support me, guys...😁

When I started to write stories and scripts, I had only one software to use, "MS Word". Then later on, I discovered many. Here is my top list.

This starts from the last-best to the first-best software. All the software here is on a PC. Free versions can be pirated from FileCR and GetIntoPC.

4. Celtx: The old pocket version of Celtx is the one I used most. The newer version is a premium one that you should subscribe to or buy to write a second and more projects. The newer version is a good website version. has a lot of features, but only with a subscription. The old one is the one i used the most; it is the worst software you could ever use. If you go to my grandma's, you can find that many bugs. (Ps: my grandma died). Don't try the old one; it's more than hell. if need a option to delete this one, you should do it before it eats you vram and kills the GPU before the release of GTA6.

3. Scrivener: it's good software, best for scripts, good for books. But it has many issues with it, like it's so complex not as complex as the old Celtx version, but ok. Writing a book in it is not a good experience may be some practiced hands love it. I loved the folder way of segregation; I can add a research folder, remember folder, and extra. It even had a dustbin folder. Its stats work is good, like the word count, character count, and more. it has a wonderful metadata and copywrite maintainer.

2. Final Draft: I used it once, and I had so many good vibes. Really great UI. Most of the film industry uses this, (i think). it has more complicated tools, that are very useful if you learn it. overall it is really great for scripts and books both. screenplays can be written very effortlessly. (Ps: if some one tried this please comment how it really is, in your perspective) it has a really good copyright and metadata maintainer.

1. THE MS WORD: The OG of all time, all time favorite. tools are peak. UI is one of the best. People might think me as I am praising my grandma, although she passed way very hardly. But the truth is MS Word keeps itself in time like my grandpa who started chasing young girls (Ps: not too young) Well, I will give a huge applause for the team, MS Office for this gem. All those very needed tools, new Ai enhanced features are really really great. with the customization option that out win all the other software. In most other option they need update and enhance the user experience. I now personally use MS Word for my stories. as i love it more, more and more. I feel like Nikki for MS Word.

Please support my content and share your opinion on this list and help other Indie creator shine.
