Is N26 Metal worth it long term in Germany?
I currently have Deutsche Bank and recently got an easybank credit card mainly for a USA trip, but I probably won’t keep the easybank card long term.
I’m considering N26 Metal because:
- 2% instant savings interest
- travel benefits
- free foreign usage
- modern app experience
If I keep enough money in instant saving so the interest almost offsets the monthly Metal fee.
For people already using N26 Metal in Germany:
is it actually worth it long term?
how is the real-world experience?
any hidden downsides or things you regret?
Would appreciate honest opinions.
Also it’s not like I travel every month but 1-2 a year
DHL Packstation locked my package inside
Hi everyone,
On May 12, 2026, I dropped off a package at a DHL Packstation and something strange happened.
I first selected an M compartment and placed my package inside. While closing it, I realized the package was an extremely tight fit, so I pressed “choose another compartment” to get a larger one.
The machine then opened an L compartment, but the original M compartment with my package inside stayed locked. The L compartment was empty, and I had no way to retrieve the package from the M compartment anymore.
I thought that if I pressed “cancel,” it would just cancel the operation while my package would still remain locked inside the Packstation. So I confirmed the shipment process even though the package was actually still inside the first M compartment and not in the empty L compartment.
Today DHL told me the driver found an empty compartment. I believe the system registered the empty L compartment (and not M) compartment containing my package.
I already contacted DHL support via chat and explained everything. The executive created a complaint and gave me a Beschwerde Nummer. But today I was told that the investigation now has to be carried out by the receiver company, not DHL.
I’m confused because the issue happened at the Packstation itself before the package was even properly registered.
Has anyone experienced this before? What can be done next?
Please suggest.
Thanks
Best credit card for USA travel from Germany?
Hello all,
I am travelling to the USA for around 1 month and expect to spend about $2500–3000 on things like rental car, hotels, food, gas, shopping, etc.
Which credit card would you recommend for travelling in the USA? Preferably something with low/no foreign transaction fees, good exchange rates, and wide acceptance in the US.
Also, what is the best way to exchange EUR to USD cash in Germany at a good rate? Bank, exchange office, Wise/Revolut, or withdrawing directly in the US?
I am sorry for asking this questions here but i was confused which credit card to take after searching on internet and couldn't understand much. I did finalize one Hanseatic GenialCard but as i said couldn't understand much things.
Would appreciate suggestions based on your experience. Thanks!
