Getting harder to find specific food...
I'm in the US.
Cat is 14 yr old male. His entire life, he's eaten Purina brand food. Mainly friskies. Friskies dry food mainly, although several years ago after a bout of sickness wherein he refused dry, I did give him wet after finding out which ones he liked. (Friskies wet food, pate. Go figure lol) And since then, it was just that.
Except, about a year ago, he started getting fussy over wet food so I went back to giving him dry or rotating between wet and dry.
By now, we're down to two flavors. I used to buy him the 40 can pack of friskies pate cans (the seafood flavored ones) but I don't anymore because it's a waste of money. He only likes the salmon friskies pate out of all those flavors in that variety pack.
However, there's another flavor he enjoys which is the focus of this post. Fancy feast chicken pate. Not the normal one. The senior 7+ chicken. I bought him the regular version once, and he looked at me like "I'm not dumb, this isn't the right one" and turned his nose up at it. It HAS to be the senior one. (See photo i attached!). I assume there's some kind of taste difference? Dunno, I'm not a cat. But it's what he likes, and at this point, I'm just glad he's eating.
However, I've noticed in the past year that it's getting harder to find these in store. I have to specifically go to a pet store (not local, chain pet stores like PetSmart or Petco) to find them. My local supermarket used to have them, but now they only have the other flavor in the senior line, not the one my cat likes.
It's either just Walmart or pet store that i can find them. Not like friskies where even the local corner store has it type of thing.
Am I the only one having this issue?? Does this mean they're going to get rid of that line?? I really hope not because then the only wet food my cat will have is friskies salmon pate... Which i wish they made 3oz cans for because those cans are too big for him.
