Does this seem like a good trade-in deal? (Michigan)

I'm looking to get a new 2026 Mazda 3 select sport sedan in the dark blue with no add-ons. My dealership wants a $500 non refundable deposit while they try to obtain the exact vehicle I want. There are several that just say "in transit to dealer" on Mazda's website, salesman told me he cant say when it will arrive to the other dealers, so my trade in value could drop a bit if I rack up a ton of miles while waiting for the new car to arrive. I guess that makes sense but I don't think I'd put more than a couple thousand miles on it in the meantime. Whatever.

I will be trading in my 2025 Toyota Corolla LE sedan with 45,000 miles. They are giving me $17,000 for it.

After the trade in, they want a check for $9,110, bringing the total price of the Mazda 3 to $26,610 OTD, and of course that $500 deposit goes towards that final number.

I really want to get this over with but I'm hesitant to sign a $500 deposit and want to make sure this doesn't appear that I'm getting screwed over.

Best alternative to a Corolla? No Toyotas.

Hello,

I have a 2025 Corolla LE with the 2.0 Dynamic Force engine. I am very dissatisfied with the car due to cheap build quality, coolant, and electrical issues. Also I am done dealing with Toyota dealerships.

I am looking for an alternative sedan (maybe SUV?) in a similar price range of the Corolla. I need it to be extremely reliable as my job requires me to travel across country on a regular basis.

I don't care about looks or fun factor at all. I also do not care about gas mileage. I just need something that will work.

Any other 12th gen owners have nothing but problems?

I purchased a brand new 2025 LE last year and have since driven 37,000 miles. I have had nothing but problems with this car. I will list them.

The AC makes an awful squealing noise at idle.

The entire car sometimes reeks of gasoline and runs rough, gets all jumpy until I hit 25 mph.

I pressed a button to lower the back seat and it completely cracked and destroyed itself. Toyota replaced it thankfully.

The CVT gets stuck in its launch gear when going up steep hills (sometimes) so I can only go around 10 mph up hill.

The coolant is always magically disappearing (Toyota tech said they have no idea what’s causing it and will not look into it further).

Very rarely, the car will not fully shut off when I remove the key. It gets stuck in accessory mode until I restart it and turn it back off.

And many more minor problems.

What the hell is this? I take the car to Toyota CONSTANTLY for these problems and almost every time it’s just “we don’t know what’s happening, sorry”. And I would sell this car if the paint wasn’t literally FALLING OFF. Because I won’t get full price for a car with fucked up paint.

Can anyone else relate to these issues??

First pic is cold engine. Second is warmed up engine. 33,000 miles.

This is ridiculous right? For a car this new it should not be this low on coolant. And who knows how long its been like this... Has anyone else had this issue and was it covered under your 60,000 mile powertrain warranty??
