UTI Worries…

Hi all! I need something to ease my mind or something. So, I went in with sudden UTI like symptoms for a uti around 18+5 weeks, got a urine culture and I had 1+ Protien, 3+ Blood and some other things that seemed to indicate a UTI, per dr.

She told me that around 18 weeks was too early to try to do any pre-eclampsia diagnoses, however I did have my first elevated bp while there, with readings from the nurse maybe 15 minutes apart. They were just slightly over the pre-e threshold. I noticed in my after visit summary, it had something about notifying MFM (I already attend) and diverting pre-eclampsia labs/testing. Had to get antibiotics, got the urine culture back, and then had to switch to some that would actually fight the infection. As of today, I’m finishing that second round of abx and do feel much better, still have a little bit of mild cramping and urethral discomfort.

Should I just not worry about this? The doctor wasn’t super reassuring one way or another, but just wondering if anyone else had something like this or a “one off” type thing. I’m a FTM, 26 years old, 5’9 and now 281lbs at 20wks. My mom also hasn’t been helpful, saying well “I told you weight gain would lead to this” and is chalking it up to me gaining 35lbs in 20 weeks. I came off of a GLP-1 after losing about 70lbs, so that was also a shock. And yeah, I have been beating myself up about not eating the best and exercising like I should, but this is definitely scaring me, and my mom scared me, lol

Troubles with Natera

UPDATE! I had the geneticist from MFM reach out, who suggested I come in to have the Labcorp MaterniT NIPT done, which she said not to worry, and it’s super common with higher BMI. She didn’t even want to entertain the amnio right now!

Hi everyone! I just had my 16wk check up today and I had a discussion with one of the midwives at my OB office about my 2nd “no call” NIPT test.

I had my 1st NIPT done at 12w6d which yielded insufficient results with a 2.7%ff. They were able to get me in for a redraw around 14wks. Just got the results this morning yielding yet another insufficient result with a ff of 3.4%.

For context, im a 26yo FTM currently weighing 272lbs right around 5’9.) I was on GLP-1’s prior to my pregnancy and my SW was 245 when I found out I had a lil bean on the way!!). So, I do have a higher BMI which can affect the readings.

I’m already seeing MFM for my weight & FOB’s heart condition from when he was a baby. We’ve had a scan at 13wks for NT which was 1.99 in the normal range, and everything that they could see at that scan was normal. Baby was even measuring a week ahead.

Anyways, the midwife today suggested speaking with MFM about a CVS or amniocentesis which comes with “risks”. Do I have any other options or alternate testing sources that I can use? Or does anyone have a similar experience with a positive outcome at least? My anatomy scan isn’t until July 8th, so still some time.

Early Ultrasound Boy or Girl?

TM here! Had a visit today with MFM just as a consult and everything *appears* to be developing well, which is great! Baby was actually measuring 5 days ahead of my estimated 13+4. They want to continue to monitor due to FOB atrial flutter and other heart concerns. BUT. I have felt it in my soul that this is going to be a boy, and I know it’s probably impossible to tell.. but any opinions?
