Keep current dress #1 or go for #2?
Recently bought #1 which is such a romantic mermaid, but lately I’ve been feeling called towards a ballgown/drop waist (#2)! If you were me, which dress would you go for?

4’11 here, went out of my comfort zone with this gorgeous mermaid dress! However, part of me is overwhelmed by how voluminous it is. I feel a bit like the dress is wearing me rather than me wearing the dress lol. I also feel a bit “stout”, like the dress makes me look more wide than I am (I think this is becuase I normally gravitate towards more sheath style dresses, last pic for reference).
Have any other petite women felt this way, as if your dress overwhelmed your frame? Should I seek out a different dress or does this one look good?
My measurements for reference:
4’11, 95 lb, 32B, 24” waist, typically size 0
Wearing 2” heels in the photo but may need to go with higher heels
My dress budget was <$500 so I was soooo stoked with this thrift find :) I really love it, but a part of me wonders if I’m settling just because of the price tag. My only concern is that it maybe makes me look kinda stout since it’s so bottom heavy?
Is this dress the one?? Or should I keep looking? I do have an entire year until my wedding!
Thrifted Maggie Sottero for <$200! The original owner had it altered from a size 12 to 2 for her. This is how it looks on me straight out of the box!
Overall I really love it, just a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of dress (it’s really thick/heavy material and the bust is heavily padded. I’m a 32B so I’m used to looking very flat chested lol). Since it’s so bottom heavy a part of me fears it makes me look kinda stout?
Struggling to tell if I should have it altered! Wedding isnt til next year! Is this the one or should I keep looking?
