Feeling very frumpy in this dress, any advice?
Is this dress super unflattering? I feel like it looks very frumpy…

Hello, me again! Ready to get roasted. Brother in law getting married in early June and need a dress - beach in the Carolinas. 5’2” 156 lbs. Adding in the last dress option that some of you liked last week. Thank you!
I got rid of a bunch of dresses from the last go around and picked up some new ones to try, please help me decide what to keep!
None of these are petite sizing so I’m not sure if some hit at an awkward length & if should look for petite sizes.
Anyway there’s a few photos of dresses I kept from the last purge in there too, still undecided on those. Please give me all your opinions!
Trying to break out of my skinny jeans comfort zone so I ordered some cropped wide leg jeans. The left (white) pair are regular sizing, while the right (blue) pair are petite sizing with a slightly shorter rise as well as shorter inseam. I feel like the left pair is more elongating and therefore more flattering, but I'm wondering if I can make the right pair work, or does it look too cropped?? maybe with a certain type of shoe??? Idk my millenial ass still thinks I look best in skinny jeans and can't judge objectively 😭 would appreciate others opinions!
Looking for a pair of black straight leg trousers around ankle length. Every single pair I’ve tried on over the last couple of years just hasn’t fit right.
Since I’m so short and most pants are high rise, most of them look like they’re swallowing me! So I’m looking for something mid rise. Also, I think all my weight goes to my hips and thighs so most pants that are straight leg end up looking way too tight around the thighs. I don’t even mind having to hem them if they’re too long, but I find that non petite pants end up just being too baggy in certain places and the proportions are all wrong.
I’m just looking for basic straight leg ankle length pants. Nothing too stretchy or legging-y either. Everything now that isn’t a long wide leg fit is some kind of ponte front seam kick flare whatever type pant. I also prefer pleatless/flat front, but willing to buy something pleated.
For reference, the two pants that I’ve tried that I like are 1. The Aritzia Conan pants, which I have been wearing for years but they’ve been discontinued and 2. The Reformation Vida pants, which fit perfectly but I haven’t purchased as they aren’t exactly the style I’m looking for right now.
Please give me any recommendations you have! I found a hole in my Conan pants recently and while I was able to get them fixed, I think they’re starting to wear out, so I’m getting desperate here. Thanks!!
I’m 5’2 and struggle to find shoes that are comfortable (cobblestone cities, lots of walking type of travel) but also polished enough for an outfit on a petite frame.
Sometimes I feel like the standard white sneakers just make me look shorter as they are so abrupt on the silhouette (and haven’t found them to be great support either). I’ve learned the hard way not to sacrifice entirely for fashion with horrible blisters etc. Could you use a little advice please!
Back at it with another tub selfie haha.
Years ago I was gifted a bunch of clothes from someone and pretty much everything was too big except for these jeans.
They are my only pare of true low rise jeans and I love how they accentuate my hips but I have no idea what type of tops that would work well with it.
I do have a really cute tube top in blue that I thought would go well with it, and possibly a pair of vans. But I wanna try and wear these after years of them sitting inside a closet so any inspo would be appreciated! I am a high rise girly so this is uncharted territory
i swear every skort i try makes me look like i'm wearing my older sister's clothes. either it's too long and hits weird at the knee or the waistband sits at my actual armpits
trying to put together more sporty outfits this summer, the white tank skort sneakers combo, but petite proportions are kicking my butt. anything labeled "mini" on regular brands is still hitting me past mid thigh
would love recs from anyone under 5'3 who's figured this out. also open to brands that actually do petite sizing properly not just slap the word on the label
Hi! I wanted to know if this denim-look dress fits my frame or if it is swallowing me up. The smocked bodice extends way down past my natural waist, ending near my hips. Is this drastically shortening my lower half, or does the continuous dark color save it? The fabric is on the heavier side, so it has a very full twirl. Is it worth keeping, and if so, how can I style it?
I can’t put my finger on it. There’s something wrong. All my leggings now look super unflattering on me but this one the most. My body shape has changed somewhat after a baby but it’s been 3 yrs and I’ve gotten my weight down to 50kg now. Can anyone tell me why these leggings look so unflattering on me? Is it because of my waist/hip ratio as in my waist not being too thin or just the leggings being sky high on a short torso? Any tips for a more flattering gym look?
Thanks!
’Im going through and trying on some spring/summer
clothes, mostly bottoms, that my mother gave to me over the last few months. I know I’m a little late in the season for these but I am just getting around to it. Anyway, what the hell is wrong with the way they look on me? I thought they were cute all this time and happily took them from my mom when she held them up to me, but putting them on makes me question if I would ever wear them in public, even to grab an ice cream or something. Please don’t hold back, - I just turned 30 and I must know these things. Thanks. I’m 5’1

Hi all - with your recc, will you put what you like about the fit as well? I am looking for one piece swim suits that are functional and for swimming vs laying around!
Hi all, since summer is on its way I (48kg 5'2) am looking to expand my wardrobe.
I've taken a particular liking to boho/earthy tones/embroidery/whimsical/fairy styles of clothing. I've had some luck just by thrifting older clothes, but if anyone could point me in the direction on where to look online that would be very helpful!
Thank you 🙂xx
I’m starting college in the fall, and one of my goals is the feel better in my own skin! I want to stop being told I look 12. Especially in pictures! What can I do to look older, sexier, more mature?
lol - I’ve been having a hard time finding inspo for my body type- 5’3”, 150lbs, size 6/8 bottoms but with a little belly. I’ve found a couple good people to follow with similar body type but they’re mostly moms and post a lot of other “mom life” content. Honestly makes me feel a little bad about myself, since I’m not a mom but have this lil pooch I need to consider when I pick outfits.
Sister texted me a tiktok this morning with the caption "this changed my life as a petite!!!" The hack: wear cropped jackets to elongate your legs. The creator is 5'7.
I'm 5'2. Every jacket I have ever bought is already cropped on me. The "regular" length blazers hit me at the upper thigh. The "cropped" ones from the same brands hit me at the actual waist. The OVERSIZED ones are normal length on me.
I love my sister and I cannot bring myself to explain the geometry of this to her again...
I want some summer dresses for work and these ones look like they fit professional settings. I’ve checked stores around me where the smallest size they have still seems longer and looks awkward. Wondering if any brands do smaller length wise too.
Hey fellow petites. I need your help adding to my workout wardrobe without breaking the bank.
I've been buying almost exclusively Lululemon for a long time because their 23" and 25" inseams are the only ones that fit my short legs perfectly without rolling, and the quality holds up through years of regular use. But at $98 plus for a pair of leggings and $78 plus for a tennis skirt, it's just not sustainable for me anymore. I'm tired of having to wait months for their rare sales just to afford one new piece.
My weekly routine is pretty consistent: 3 to 4 runs a week, usually 3 to 5 miles each, strength training and HIIT at the gym, and tennis 1 to 2 times a week. So I need clothes that can handle both high-impact cardio and quick lateral movements.
My biggest frustrations with regular activewear are leggings that bunch up at the ankles and I have to roll them two or three times, running shorts that go past my knees and look ridiculous, tennis skorts that are too long and restrict my swing, and waistbands that are way too big even in a regular XS.
I've tried a bunch of random cheap brands from Amazon before, but the quality was really hit or miss. Some were completely see-through when I bent over, others stretched out permanently after just one wash. I'm willing to spend a little more for something that will last more than a few months, just not Lululemon prices.
What are your favorite affordable brands that actually cater to petite frames? I'd love specific product recommendations if you have them. I'm especially looking for high-waisted running leggings with side pockets, 3 to 4 inch inseam running shorts, pleated tennis skorts with ball pockets, and supportive sports bras for small busts.
Also, if anyone has tips for finding good deals on quality petite activewear, I'm all ears.
Hi fellow petite girls!
I need some advice on what outfit to pick for an upcoming wedding end of May. I actually planned on wearing the first dress that I thrifted and had altered a few years ago. It’s 100% silk and I like the pattern, but when I tried it on yesterday I didn‘t really love it anymore on me. Something feels off, maybe it’s because I gained a few pounds, maybe it’s just in my head😂
I went shopping and found the second dress at Mango yesterday, but it was too tight and they didn’t have the right size in store. So I ordered it online, but now I am thinking it’s stupid to spend 80€ on a dress that I am only gonna wear once when I have a perfectly fine dress at home.
What would you do if you were in my shoes?
(Sorry for the bad pictures)
