Brands with waist length tops

Any suggestions for brands that have a solid amount of tops that aren't hip length and too long in the sleeves?

I struggle in this area because I have a long torso and broad shoulders, so sometimes the petite option in tops doesn't work for me.

I don't like tucking in tops, and I don't want an extreme cropped look either. For example, one top I purchased recently that fits perfectly in the waist and sleeves is the Uniqlo Ribbed Henley Neck T-shirt. I'd love to be able to find more elevated/less basic tops that fit just as well as the Uniqlo.

TIA!

End of rent cap

Do you think we'll get any firm confirmation of whether or not the rent cap will be extended or adjusted, and if so, when do you think we might hear from the government?

As of now I'm expecting it to fully end, but do you think the government will give any sort of announcement regarding the matter as the end of the rent cap date approaches?

Anyone tried Kenzo cat litter?

Available online only from my location. Can't find any previous posts or comments about it. Curious to know if it's any good.

ETA: asking about this specific litter, not about general litter recommendations.

Anyone else notice the recent post on the therapist sub, where many admitted to finding therapy unhelpful?

I found it so ironic and hypocritical that many struggled to gain much benefit from their own therapy, yet their entire profession is based on the exact same practices being sold as being able to treat mental disorder... makes it feel like such a grift.

How to calm social anxiety before big event?

I am going to my cousin's wedding tomorrow, and my social anxiety is very overwhelming in anticipation. I am not close to my cousin, nor anyone in my extended family, and I am going alone. My anxiety is mostly because I have no "safe people" there that I can anchor myself to. I decided to go in part because I know it is not good for my anxiety to avoid these types of situations. But I've been dreading it since I got the invite in the fall, and have spent my last two therapy sessions talking about it. Last session only made me feel worse. Now I feel paralyzed and tearful waiting for the event to come.

I also have had severe and chronic depression and can't get myself to feel any genuine excitement towards the couple getting married, seeing any family at the event, or talking to anyone. I am just waiting to for it to be over. I feel very disconnected from any good intentions I had in deciding to go, but I know it won't help my self esteem to back out now. I don't know what to do to help myself with my sense of overwhelm. I've tried deep breathing, yoga, exercising, and distraction.

Talking about it in therapy has just made me feel more alone, because I don't feel like my therapist understands how intense my fear is. It makes me feel bad about myself, because I know my emotional reaction is ridiculous for what the event is. But I can't help it.

Misc Musings

Just like everyone else I've been observing the recent discourse and the very concerning images from the tour. Just a couple random comments I felt like sharing:

While it is undeniable that Ariana has an amazing gift with singing, it rubs me the wrong way when I keep seeing comments that are like "it would be so unfortunate to lose someone so talented" or "we can't lose such a beautiful voice". I know the intent is well meaning, but I can't help but think it diminishes her inherent value as a human to focus on what she provides to others. I'd rather her retire if that meant she was happy and healthy than have her get healthy for the main purpose of being able to continue being a "product" for consumption.

Also, I came across some grim stats about eating disorders from a book I've been reading:

- (In Scotland) the average life expectancy for anyone who has been hospitalized for anorexia has a life expectancy of 39 years.

- Less than 50% of people with anorexia recover.

I know discussing her body and health specifically is fraught with rightful controversy, but I do think that the broader topic of eating disorders and body image is important for the public to continue talking about, especially at a time when Ozempic and skinny is trending back in. We owe it to ourselves, the women in our lives, and young girls to fight the oppression that is this cultural obsession with appearances, dieting, and singular body ideals.

What we are witnessing is serious, extreme, and scary. It hurts to see someone so visibly suffering. Other than hoping that Ariana finds a path to recovery and real healing, I hope that the conversations that are happening help lead at least some people to shift away from our culture's acceptance and normalization of disordered eating, and from unrealistic and unhealthy body image standards.
