I'm from STL, and someday I want to move to Philly when I'm more established in my career. I love big cities, queer spaces, bustling entertainment, culture, art, and walkable areas. My roommate has this long-standing belief that everyone who leaves STL comes back to STL, and for some reason that irks me. I don't get it. I think his vision is narrow. When I leave, I do not intend to look back.

It isn't all the time, but it's often enough. Even when I'm not really laughing or holding back laughter, my eyes will tear up. The cause doesn't even have to be that funny for it to happen, and it's kind of awkward and uncomfortable.

I feel like a weirdo when a good chuckle has me wiping away tears. Especially because I tend to be rather calm and not very expressive.
