I've been hearing actors boast about how "Gen Z wants to go to cinemas, they just don't want slop". Bullshit. These same people are the ones who help create the slop that's being put out. Shitty writing was here before AI, political propaganda existed before ChatGPT.

AI like every other technological advancement is a tool. It can be used to make better movies if used right. I'm not pushing for sloppy work but if it helps with speed and efficiency? Why not. As someone with ADHD it's greatly helped me in my work and getting stuff done.

Hollywood is making better movies this year, but the problems remain: They're not getting rid of wokeness, they're still making audiences hate each other due to political divide. We're winning however, shitty DEI projects in Marvel are being cut out, woke projects like the DCU and The Boys are losing cultural ground and Star Wars is caput. Even Nolan's Odyssey wasn't too woke outside of the race swaps and bits of dialogue (I personally liked it but hey if you didn't then all power to you free platform).

AI is an easy villain because "muh creativity". They will try to put their garbage back in when they can, they will add in more wokeness when they can. Always have a line and make sure it isn't crossed.

Edit: I'm not saying "Use AI and hope for the best" far from it. I'm saying use it to make your work BETTER. I've used it to get rid of busy work, and then refine it making me more productive at work.

Us: "Dude why do women in gaming look so ass their face models are hot as shit"

Woke: "YOU JUST DONT GET LAID"

Damn bro forget the fact I have a job, a degree and generally am I nice guy, if I get my fucking dick wet that's the real measure of succcess. Imagine fucking JFK decided to hire Chad from Sales to lead the fucking Apollo program because he had a crazy weekend in Fort Lauderdale. Also it's quite telling that they call us degenerates for beauty standards but we can only have an opinion if we have a high bodycount.

Us: "Henry Cavill is handsome"

Woke: "WOW YOU GUYS ARE SECRETLY GAY"

Last I checked calling a handsome dude handsome is.... stating a fact. Hell I think it's endearing, build up people regardless. And if there were gay people on this sub, so what? Are they not allowed to be gay?

Do I think beauty standards of this group can be insane? Yeah. Do I also think that your fucking worth is based on how much play you get or if you like dudes? Nope.

Everything seems to be so "young" oriented nowadays. Marvel's X Men are now my ages, a lot of breakout stars and filmmakers are in their early to mid 20s.

I don't know maybe I'm just sad I missed out on my youth in HS (25 rn) but I honestly can't be arsed to keep up with the culture because of how young it is. Watched No Country For Old Men and it was terrific, it's like there's no love triange or prom bs, it's just a ruthlessly old ass film and everyone was established.

Like everything is all "romance, young love". If you like that then more power to you but I don't know I think I need a break, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat.

I was recently playing Fortnite and I see skins like Ariana Grande, Addison Rae, other sexualized pop stars. In a game for kids. I'm not very prudish I like hot girls but..... this a game kids play in. We can have attractive people but isn't this a bit much? Like some of the skins seem inappropriate.

Meanwhile a R rated movie cuts out nude scenes? Huh?

We already have so many Gen Z based protagonists and heroes, can we have a proper older guy again?

Let men in their mid 30s early 40s take on the Bond role. Bond is meant to be a man who's experienced and in the prime of his life. If you watch the movies with Connery - Craig you can't imagine a man in their 20s nowadays doing the stuff they did (yes I know Lazenby and Connery we're young but men back then and aging was different.)

Henry Cavill or Rob Pattinson would be perfect for the role. Seeing Gen Z Bond would be very jarring to say the least.

With Obsession and the Backrooms being a major hit, and movies like Spider-Man and The Odyssey looking to be billion dollar hits, it looks like we have a sort of monoculture.

Every few months there seemed to be a new film trending. First it was Michael and Project Hail Mary, then Obsessions and Backrooms, now it's Odyssey and Brand New Day. Next up is probably going to be Doomsday and Dune 3.

Compared to 2025? I think the closest we got was Superman and maybe Sinners but that's it. 2024 was lackluster too with the exception of Deadpool and Wolverine. 2023 we had Barbenheimer and 2022 we had Top Gun Maverick, 2021 we had No Way Home but 2026 seems to be giving us major talking points every few months.

Edit: I think there's a strong case to say the monoculture in general could be bigger now compared to the 2020s. The World cup was a major event with a surprising amount of attention in the US due to them hosting, video games too given GTA 6's much anticipated release.
