Herbal Assistance with thyroid

Recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism

I enjoy Daily different Herbal infusions to reduce the stress on my adrenals and overall stress on my body. Burdock, dandelion, astragalus, calendula, ashwaganda, hibiscus, cleavers, hawthorn, schisandra, lemon balm and nettles. I switch it up everyday some days I add dong qui and different mushroom broths chaga, reishi cordonopisis etc .. but these are my mainstays for how. And I am trying to move everyday for 30 minutes walking ,qigong swimming, and/ or the elliptical.

Have anyone had success with different herbs to avoid taking the Lev0 or daily med?

Anyone have thoughts on L-Tyrosine? I think in this formula the iodine is too high so only take 1 pill 3x a week. This is the breakdown
L-tyrosine of 200mcg
Iodine of 30 mg

Daily I take

Vit D3 +K2

Vit B complex

Myo-inositol

Omega 3’s

Selenium Zinc after dinner and

Magnesium Glycinate at bed time

I am hoping to get my numbers back on track before I see the endo in the fall
* am newly diagnosed with hypothyroid and do not want to take daily meds. the testing that led to my diagnosis was of TSH and T4 free ~ that’s all that was tested

Open to all advice ! Thanks 🌻

Does WW work without GLP1?

Does Weight Watchers alone still work for weight loss? I used to hear all the wonderful stories about people following the plan meticulously and losing 50-70 pounds in a year or less and being able to keep it off for years by following the plan and not depriving themselves into crazy restrictive diets and hating life etc ..
But I no longer hear those types of stories

I did Weight Watchers in 2012 and it worked well for me but I don’t seem to have any of the materials anymore.

Well I rejoined and 2024 and I was so annoyed by it all that I quickly stop the program- it was all online with no in person meetings whatsoever and I missed the accountability factor. Not to mention it was nice meeting people in person that were also going through the program.

And now I’m seeing so many people having good luck with the new Weight Watchers program as they now join it with the GLP1’s
I have no plans on getting on any medication for weight loss. I have yet to see any studies or even responses from any people that have stopped taking GLP1’s and were able to maintain a weight loss.

So for those of you strictly on Weight Watchers with out using any of the weight loss drugs out there how are you finding the program? And are you still losing weight with the calorie deficit and better meal choices?

Many thanks

Schisandra tonic

Schisandra Tea ....

I have a pound of whole schisandra berries, normally I use 1/4 cup berries in cold water on low simmer on stovetop

I've also read its best as a cold water infusion.

How do you prepare schisandra as a wonderful summer drink, tea or tonic?

Cold water overnight in room temp or in a refrigerator? or

Stove stop on simmer for 20 minutes and top off with honey***?***

What's this about Broccoli and Cabbage?

I am newly diagnosed and neither my doctor not my endocrinologists mentioned anything about staying away from these foods. The only information on the papers the med was sent with talks about Grapefruit juice and when to take the meds and how much, along with the normal side effects to be aware of.

Can someone please tell me if there are indeed foods - like veggies and fruits we are to stay away from. I am very new to this and I don't know if I am getting much assistance from my medical team.

Thanks

Natural ways to decrease weight and manage hypothyroidism

I am newly diagnosed and at loss. I have a script for levothyroxine & haven't yet stated it. I am looking into Selenium, Zinc, L-Tyrosine, Magnesium, herbal remedies like adaptogens and still unsure about Iodine in a newly diagnosed post menopausal women. Needless to say I am in a bit of a spiral about this diagnosis. Would love some assurance from those of you who have been here

Stopped Zepbound now have Hypothyroid

I stopped Zepbound because of extreme GI issues and I wasn’t really loosing weight
However I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, and stopping Zepbound put me in an autoimmune storm. I have gained nearly 30 unstoppable pounds, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia pain & moderate to mild insomnia
I am still working out but can only manage 4x a week - alternating between walking ,cardio, barre and weight training and QiGong for balance and such

Has anyone who has stopped Zepbound been experience issues other than the reported kidney stones and such?
