Aside from airport service desks, what reliable options are there to exchange CHF to EUR (cash to cash) if I won't be having any active bank accounts? what options have better exchange rates?

Hi, I'm an international student recently admitted to the Physics MSc program at Bonn. My question for current students is pretty much the title, things you realized after starting the program that would have been useful to know beforehand.
Specifically, if you had extra time before the program started, what would you have prepared for more? are there any specific courses/topics that you would advise prospective students to review in advance?
I'm aware that my question is highly case-dependent, but just sharing your personal insight and experience will be more than good enough for me right now :)
