As a small cub he was found alone in the ‘Katz’ sand dunes of the coastal area of Maroubra, the name meaning ‘Place of Thunder’ by the local tribes in the area. He was named, raised and trained in the ways of the Barbarian by his adoptive parents Kyles & Macca who were the last members of the Clan ‘Kylian’. When he became of age his lust for adventure needed to be quenched and hence set forth out into the world. Hearing thunder always makes him reflect on his homelands of Maroubra.

Former Officer ‘Shelley’ of NCPD was gunned down by some high ranking crooked cops working for some crime syndicate. I was ‘raised from the dead’ by being put in this Enforcer body by those who shot me so they could question me to see how I found out about them all. I was able to escape their capture. My life mission is now trying to track down those who were involved in making me into this ‘monster’ and taking my vengeance.

The name is Shelley but also known as the ‘Tin Man’ because I have no heart (physically and figuratively)

But this is the true back story…

My original Frankie cyberpunk character was killed on the final campaign day…or was he? Frankie’s AI was created from his brain scan ages ago during the old campaign. Then before 2077, a techi found Frankie’s AI black box and he placed it into an old Militech Enforcer tin man suit. Frankie uses the alias ’Shelley’ (Mary Shelley) to keep it in the Frankenstein family 😉

It was a zero day session just to get our characters done and then we started. Let’s just say I’m a bad version of robocop. To help free one of our teammates I decided to dress up as an uber eats delivery guy and go in thru the front door while 2 other teammates went up the fire escape. My disguise was me wearing a bright coloured jacket and a baseball cap. With delivery food bag in one hand a my gun behind it I was kinda made so lifted the bag and fired thru it to blow one guys head off and then the other guy. And then we all made our way to rescue our teammate. Later I was given my old jacket back from a character from the first campaign and a pair of jeans so I wouldn’t stand out in public. His look is based on Robot Man from DC Comics.

Unfortunately Shelley/Frankie was killed off due to the DM going hard on me the next session and there was no chance of survival 😢

Let me introduce you to the Alpha or Original 1.0 version of Frankie…

I had been playing RPGs for just over a year and had to come up with a one shot DnD character. I was struggling as I was still a noob to RPGs and was still getting the hang of how to use my current character which was a Tabaxi Barbarian based on my cat Bernard (also the name of my character) and Dark Meowscles from Fortnite. It wasn’t until I saw this picture of a statue of Frankenstein that the lightbulb went on above my head. Part of Bernard’s backstory was that he has adoptive parents Kyles & Macca. Now Macca is a character who is supposed to be an immortal time traveller and existed in various timelines. In one timeline he was trying to ‘escape an attack’ and that timeline branched into 2 where in one Macca escaped…but in the other Macca was captured, tortured and experimented on and was turned into an immortal Frankenstein monster wandering the world trying to remember who he was and called himself Frankie. I was inspired by all those Kang variants at the end of Ant-Man 3 and The Loki variants in his show. He is also kinda based on a mash up of DC Comics Frankenstein, Hellboy, Cable and The Kurgan from Highlander (mostly in attitude…not really giving a F). Well Frankie was a success in that one shot and it seemed a shame to just let that be the end of him. So since then I have created variants of Frankie for other RPGs I have played.
