Adapting daughter’s name (Djuna) for Spain. Advice?!

Hello! We are moving from the US to Spain for a few years and I would love some insight on my young daughter’s name. She is named Djuna (pronounced JOO-nah). It’s a little unusual but we love it and it fits her perfectly.

Since the "Dj" spelling isn't native to Spanish, I am wondering how people will naturally try to say it when they see it written down. Will native speakers lean toward something like "YOO-na"?

I am also considering using "Duna" as her everyday name while we live there to make things easier. It means dune, which feels lovely and poetic, but I want to make sure it sounds like a normal, wearable name to locals rather than something totally bizarre.

Thank you so much for any help!

Adapting the name Djuna for a move to Spain. Advice?!

Hello!

My young daughter is named Djuna (pronounced JOO-nah, à la Djuna Barnes). We love the name and it suits her perfectly. We are moving from the US to Spain for a few years, and I am trying to figure out how to handle her name there. It doesn’t translate directly into Spanish without losing its original sound and vibe.

I really want to avoid it being pronounced "YOO-nah" or "da-YOO-nah," which I worry people might resort to. Does anyone have ideas for lovely nicknames that preserve the original essence but work well in Spanish? I was thinking of Duna, which means "dune" in Spanish, is lovely and feels quite fitting, but I would love to hear other thoughts.

Thanks!

still losing on maintenance dose (2.5 every 2 weeks)

Hey-

Have met my goal weight and want to stay where I am at. I’m currently taking 2.5m every 2 weeks for maintenance but am still losing. My provider said maybe I should just go off completely but I don’t want to begin to gain too much. I’ve also heard it’s less effective if you stop and start. Has anyone stretched longer or had experience like this?

Milos Boat Tour with kids

Hello!

I have a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old and we’re visiting Milos soon- very excited! We want to do a boat tour and I’ve seen there are full and half day options. I’m thinking a half day might be best with little ones, but would we miss out by not doing a full day?

We’re based in Pollonia and will have a car so getting around isn’t an issue. Open to private tours too if that gives more flexibility.

Does anyone have experience with the different options and could offer some advice? Thanks so much for any help! Really appreciate it.
