A few questions prior to seeing the surgeon.

Hi, I have been lurking here after an Endo Flip & manometry led to this diagnosis. I haven’t been told anything about it. My gastroenterologist called with the results and just said I would be going to see a thoracic surgeon, tomorrow.

A lot of symptoms that I’ve read about on here I don’t really have. When you all mention that you have to throw up, is that like when you have a stomach bug, and you know you better run to the restroom? I do not throw up, unless food has been stuck in my esophagus, and isn’t going down or up on its own, and I make myself throw up to get it out. I’ve had my esophagus dilated multiple times over the last 20 years, and I have severe GERD, and regurgitation. But I do not have any of the spasms that I’ve been reading about here. Just terrible pain in my chest and my back if my food gets stuck. I have actually gained 20 pounds in the last few months because my diet has been mainly ice cream, jello, pudding and soup.

So before I see this surgeon, is it possible that I was misdiagnosed, or is that Endo Flip and manometry pretty accurate? Are there any questions that I should ask that I’m not thinking about?

I appreciate any advice. Thank you so much!

▲ 2 r/POTS

Hi, new symptoms, and hoping for some tips for dealing.

I’ve been diagnosed with POTS for almost 20 years. My symptoms have gradually worsened over time, but it’s always been a very slow progression.

A couple of weeks ago, however, I developed some new symptoms almost overnight. My entire body feels like it’s made of lead, but my biggest concern is what happens when I stand.

Within 1–8 minutes of standing, I begin pouring sweat, even in an air-conditioned room. Sweat runs down my face, and my hair becomes completely soaked. I start feeling sick, slightly nauseated, short of breath, pounding heartbeats, and just generally “off”.

To cope, I bought a soft nugget ice maker and eat ice to cool myself down. I also use cold, wet towels on my face and neck, which helps some. Unfortunately, the episodes have now started waking me from sleep, and they feel just as intense as if I’d been standing for several minutes.

Has anyone else with POTS experienced the extreme sweating and shortness of breath? If so, and what helped? I have already called my doctor and have an appointment in a few weeks, but I’d really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences and any tips that made things more manageable.

Thanks in advance, to be honest, I’m really scared.

TL;DR: After nearly 20 years with POTS, I suddenly developed severe episodes of drenching sweat, shortness of breath, and feeling like I’ll collapse within minutes of standing. And now the episodes wake me from sleep. Has anyone else experienced this, and what helped?

Crimson card

Hi all, brand new driver. Please tell me where in the world I find my 4 digit code to withdraw money at an ATM. I know that I can put it in my Apple wallet and pay that way, but I want to withdraw actual cash. I have been all over that app looking and nothing. Any help much obliged! Thank you and have a good evening.
