So back in April 2, there was an insane capitalone offers of 14400 miles for purchasing any door dash order. I immediately ordered Wendy’s and followed all the instructions. Spent $3.40 on a mini burger.. and waited for the points to post…
It never tracked… bummer.. called 45 days later to ask about my points. The CSR told me to call after 90 days…
Well today is exactly 90 days… I called and was connected to exclusive product service division. They verified that I made the correct purchase using my VX..and verified the door dash offers. My door dash status however went into inactive status during the 90 day waiting period - so it took a while for the CSR to bring up my history- once everything was confirmed- they agreed to give me the “courtesy “ 14400 miles- it’ll take 7-10 days to post..
keeping my fingers crossed - that this will post soon..

I found this decent hotel in Athens -$323 for two nights using chase travel portal
I look it up in bookings - with my genius 3 discount- same hotel list for $240…
Why even bother using CSP hotel credit if Chase travel portal jacks up the price like this… I price compared other hotels, they are all 60-75 more expensive than Booking..
doubt if Chase will price match because you have to sign into booking to get these prices.. this $100 credit looks great on paper but irl- really a bummer

I have capital 1 VX, CSP and Bonvoy boundless which I’ll be upgrading to Ritz Carlton card next month. I originally got VX for lounge access for myself and my P2. Since they nerfed the guest access to lounges, the VX have become less valuable to me. I know the argument of VX giving $5 to use the cards, but my recent attempt to use the $300 credit, makes me think it’s not great.
I was getting around 20% ($100)cheaper booking with Bookings. I am genius 3, so we get big discounts, and it’s one reason why VX price match don’t work on my situation ( you have to log in to confirm you are genius3 )
So basically $300 is not that useful… maybe I’m getting $200 benefits out of it??
Ritz Carlton also has $300 credit- but I hear it’s lot more flexible and useable - plus guest lounge access to AU.. plus 85k FNC…
Is CSP+Ritz a good setup - or should I keep my VX??

So I found a hotel I wanted to book in Greece via booking.com. The price was $478. Then I realize I can click this through capital one offers shopping portal. It was 2x miles for booking through capital one offers. Once I click through it - the price of my hotel change to $518. wtf?? I panicked.. and couldn’t get my original price back. I finally tried via my pc using edge browser, then magically the price reverts to original $478.

So essentially if you click through capital one offers, there is different prices vs not using the capital one…it’s kinda shady..

April 2nd I activated the door dash 14400 miles promotion on capital one offers shopping portal. I immediately purchased $3 worth of Wendy’s hamburger via the door dash link. My status still says “waiting “ - just called CSR- they told me to wait 90 days total. When informed that TOS says 45 days, they say usually 45 days, but it could take 90 days.. and they can’t do anything until then… frustrating as heck…
