Edf asking for meter reading, but I see the smart meter data in their app!

This is a weird one. I moved to edf around 8 weeks ago. A week ago they sent me an email saying they couldn't take smart meter readings for electricity and to send them a reading.

If I check on their website they say smart meter readings are fine and in the energy hub I can see the 30 minute readings.

I just called them and went round and round in circles with the lady on the phone.

This all happened just after they confirmed seg setup was complete, but that doesn't show in the account, though the last I spoke to insisted that's nothing to do with it and it's the main meter.

All very dubious and confusing. Anyone had anything similar?

EPDM, flat roof, no ballast

Hi All,

I have a largish 5 x 5.5m flat roof on my garden room that is EPDM sealed.

I don't trust the rafters to hold ballast at all - I need to minimise weight so the weight of the panels is enough. I think therefore that I'm going to have to go down the route of fixing through the EPDM and sealing - ideally with fixings with multiple screws per fixing point as I'll be tieing to the 18mm OSB roof, and won't necessarily hit the rafter / joist each time. I understand there are systems out there designed specifically for this purpose.

OK, so I'm DIYing... does anyone have experience of doing this successfully, no leaks, and without spending a small fortune on the mounting gear? I would rather buy something designed for the purpose than fabricate, so I know there will be cash involved, but I'm looking for something that is going to be straightforward for DIY install and a decent range of DIY tools...

help!

1200 lidar edge cut

Just thought I'd update on my experience a little - I was initially disappointed.

I've had the mower a few weeks now, maybe a couple of months. I had to remap the lawn once due to trying to mow another lawn, failing, and ending up resetting everything. The backup feature is as good as useless and they seriously need to sort that out! I'm on the latest firmware.

I have all the edges set to adaptive, mapped where possible with a wheel over the edge of the lawn.

I have some areas with a vertical edge and small (8cm) cobbles so mapped those with the robot flush with the vertical wall edges.

I have all areas of the lawn except where the pond is set to low avoidance - without this it seems way too cautious with overhanging leaves it plant branches.

With all this set this way it now seems to do a fairly decent job of edge trimming. The adaptive edge feature seems to make it have a go at nudging further out on each attempt. This is now causing some issues along one edge and it sometimes end up in the shallows of the pond, so I will have to remove the adaptive edge there.

So, my experience is better than when I started but I think there's a lot of room for software improvements of the robot itself and ease of use and features in the app to allow easier adjustments.

It would be really good if one of these Chinese robot mower makers would open source their firmware. I have a feeling the community would go to town on features and improvements and their robots would literally fly off the shelf. Seems odd none of them have done this!

Drop and mow?

Hi all,

I'd like to take my 1200 lidar to a nearby garden to mow the lawn. I'd prefer to just let it go, without needing to walk it round edge, esp as I won't have the ducking station there, so cannot charge it.

Is there a way to add a separated lawn like this, and then tell it to just get on and mow?

Cheers

Matt

Just got my goat, grass cut is fine, and it even seems to stick fairly well to the edge I defined (slowly and carefully).

However... The edge strimmer. If started off near the edge, then for no good reason just wandered into the middle of the lawn. Then it restarted and rejoined the edge, then took a diversion away, then back again. Then it took one edge about a foot away, then it had a fairly good run - pretty close - cut a few bits. Then decided it was done (it was halfway) and went to bed.

So, I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. I only bought the 1200 for the edge cut, my lawn is only 100m2. Anyone had experience of returning in the UK?

It would be a shame as it seems ok otherwise, it's just I dropped quite a bit if extra cash for a side trimmer that isn't fit for purpose, and from what I read I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for software updates or customer services support.

Hi all,

So I've had a worx s300 trundling around for several years, but I'm now at the 3rd wire break and have had enough!

I've prob got 100m2 arranged over two circles, and a cross shape in-between raised beds. It's flat. The boundary is edged with 8cm blocks, and the s300 currently straddles those and does a reasonable job of the edges as I managed to get the wire positioned well.

I have small, slim trees at the boundaries.

Some pictures attached.

Something small like the navimow i105e would seem like a good replacement to get rid of the wire. I don't want to spend a fortune and it's currently reduced to £599 - still higher than I'd like tbh! I do like being able to create some virtual zones that aren't cut, and the software seems good.

Any views on this or any good alternatives? I've attached some photos to give an idea of the garden.

Cheers

Hi all,

I've had a problem intermittently where my pocket fit just turned off. Holding the power button around 15 seconds brings it back.

Now recently I noticed that while trying to download a large game, it would turn off.

I now noticed that the CPU gets hit - 90-92, even in max fan during this download (gamenative steam download).

I also just switched to WiFi 6 (from WiFi 7) download is slower and stable, temperatures lower, no crashes.

Support have advised a full reset. I can't say I'm entirely convinced.

Has anyone else had this and fixed it? I am guessing that the heatsink may not have the best connection with the CPU, but interested if anyone else has seen this and managed to sort it out.

Thanks

Matt
