I've recently moved to EDF and installed the android app on my phone. I am not always logged into Play Store and when I open the app - it wants me to log into Play Store just to be able to use it - the login comes up and nothing else. Is usual behaviour?
Hoping someone running a similar setup can point me in the right direction, as I'm a bit unsure how to configure everything properly without running into conflicting schedules.
I drive a 2020 Tesla Model 3 SR+ and have an Ohme ePod charger at home. I’ve recently activated the Smart Charging feature in the EDF app where my Tesla is linked directly via its account.
My main confusion is figuring out which app is supposed to take the lead. Should I be setting all my target percentages and departure times exclusively in the EDF app or is there a reason to keep Ohme managing things?
If EDF does need to take complete control what is the exact way to disable or neutralise the Ohme app so it just acts as a dumb power supply? Is there a specific setting to avoid the charger blocking EDF’s commands?
I'm also curious how dynamic off-peak slots work outside the standard overnight window. If EDF dispatches an extra cheap charging slot during the day, will the Ohme app track the cheap slots or do I have to pay the peak price?
If anyone has this exact combination working reliably I’d really appreciate hearing how you have your settings configured across the EDF app, the Ohme app and the car itself. TIA!
I had my solar and battery installed last week and took a photo of my export meter on installation day, which was reading 000.
I’ve exported around 200kWh already, but I can’t apply for the SEG tariff with EDF until I get the paperwork from my installer next week.
I’ve seen that EDF asks for a photo of the meter reading as part of the application, but I’m not sure whether it needs to be taken on the day I apply, or whether my installation-day photo showing 000 will be enough, or if it doesn’t matter either way.
Does anyone know if EDF will backdate export payments to the installation date, or will I lose out on the electricity I’ve already exported? And will they be able to tell how much I’ve exported since installation?
Would be good to hear from anyone who’s been through the same process!

I just got this message from them and went to check the app only to find it's completely broken for me. I am guessing one of their backend systems has died.

I’ve got a 9kWh home battery which is normally topped up overnight on the off peak rate and full from solar during the day, and a PHEV with an 18.5kWh battery.
I pay 6.66p overnight, so it costs me about 60p to fill the home battery and around £1 to put 16kWh in the car.
The only way I can see to make the free hours worthwhile is to get lucky with a cloudy day, have a empty home battery and have the car plugged in (and empty) when the hours are running. Otherwise, the solar will do its thing and I won’t import anything from the grid anyway.
Feels like a lot of faff to save an absolute best of £1.60🤣
Anyone in a similar position found a decent way to make use of the free hours, or am I missing something?

The switch from Octopus happened on the 8th of October rather than 5th as I was told on the phone. I still can't see any meter readings on the EDF app.
I supplied opening reading on the 5th and 8th but its nowhere to be seen. Now randomly meter reading appeared showing 5000kwh less than on the meter.
Same on Octopus app, showing randem meter readinf on the 8th of Oct. Bright app is successful providing 30mins meter readings, meter is not displaying any faults. Octopus app is matching with my annual use. Any help appreciated?
I switched to EDF earlier in the week and noticed Weekend Saver is not showing in the app.
Anyone know if it’s available to those on EV tariffs?
Hello, I’ve switched from Octopus to EDF, and my Tesla Powerwall 3 battery no longer charges from the grid during off-peak hours. It worked fine with Octopus. I’m on the 18-month Fixed T-O-U Version 3 tariff.
Any help would be appreciated.

Relatively new to edf (6th September).
I joined on the go electric tariff from octopus iog and have chose not to connect to the smart charge option as the 7 hours overnight fixed suits me better. I managed to register for the ‘power perks’ yesterday as before it was saying you don’t qualify.
My question is are the sessions totally random and how often are they ie once a month or once every six months?

We had an email from edf wanting to raise our bill based on future predicted use. Looking back at previous months history, the amount of electricity used was much higher during the months we had ‘free’ hours on a Sunday. When we had free hours, we used a lot more electricity than we usually would (as it’s free.) We would use the dish washer, do all the washing, blast the air con etc. So on these days our usage was crazy. We obviously get that amount refunded but the amount of electricity we actually used still registers. What I am trying to say is that it’s a bit naughty if they are taking the used electricity during the free hours into account when predicting usage as it’s not a true reflection. Surely most people would do the same and absolutely rinse those free hours? Is it a sneaky tactic as a way of increasing your bills?
Just had my latest bill and my Power Perks credit for the events last month is £10.50.
When I add up my usage during the time periods it totals around £16.
I have contacted EDF so hopefully they will resolve it.

I hope this isn’t a stupid question?! Am about to switch to EDF from Octopus for my export. How do I take a reading of my export meter? Is it taken from my main smart meter, or is it from the additional meter installed when my solar was put in (pictured above)? I’ve never needed an export reading before as Octopus have always seen this automatically, but I believe this may be needed now so my payments can be backdated when I switch?
Maybe normal but just need clarification, Im on Go Electric tariff have smart charging enabled and it’s connected to my car.
When I plug the charger in to the car. The car charges straightaway and the Edf seems to be little behind saying car not plugged in, then after fair few minutes I see the car is plugged status.
I’ve not had the bottle to leave it be to see if the edf app takes control of charging and stop the initial charge as its sorts its own smart scheduling out. At this point I just use my car app to stop charge instantly.
But generally is that what you guys are seeing? Shall I plug in and let it charge and hope Edf stops it when it creates its own schedule?
I noticed a few days ago, that my PW3 was starting to behave a bit strange when I used HA to initiate then stop an export - it would suddenly start charge at peak rate.
Found the problem to be the utility rate suddenly listed as buy price of 0p in the app, so I tried to do the re-integration but with no luck, it just times out.
HA is able to pull the info from the EDF API just fine

I switched to edf on the 29th September but yet to be activated on my chosen go-electric tariff even though my meter is smart as was coming from smart EV tariff from old supplier.its been more than a week now and all calls to the customer care line has not yieldrd the desired results.i feel frustrated just on one week of my switch.Any ideas on what to do please
How long after switching to EDF did you get your first bill?
Edit: Just spoke to them and they have to manually get one created and request a reading from the smart meter??
I’ll give it a week and see what comes from it!
SECOND EDIT: After speaking with them, a bill has been produced, however no credit for the Power Perks so I’ll keep an eye on that for next month.

I have been with Octopus IOG for a long time and liked how their smart charging session works. But their recent 6-hr limit on EV charging and also sometimes the cheap rates are incorrectly applied to our account really make us think of moving to EDF.
I just became aware of the EDF's smart charging tariffs and considering switching. Have a few questions
Does EDF smart charging work similarly to IOG, i.e. smart session allocated during the day gives off-peak rate for the car and the entire house?
How generous is EDF's smart charging session during the day compared to IOG? Or are they similar?
I have a hypervolt charger but two different EVs - would it be difficult to set up? Or can I simply connect my charger to EDF account and plus in either car for charging without worrying about the rates?

We switched to EDF earlier in the year when we had a Kia e-Niro. Had to use it in dumb mode on the Ohme home pro and would have to insert battery level on plugging in etc. but it worked well. We now have an enyaq, and EDF let us set up smart charging, however there just seem to be a lot of conflicts with the Skoda, Ohme and EDF apps, sometimes the car will be charged to the right amount, sometimes not. And there will always be a litany of notifications from Skoda and Ohme apps about conflicts etc.
On advice from Gemini and Claude I have no active settings on the enyaq, the Ohme app is set to 100% and only asks for charge approval on plug in, and I use the EDF app to set charge level etc. Is there a better or different way to set this up?
Need advice from Redditors with similar set ups and who hopefully got it working
