Metro: Last Бlyat | Official Trailer

The last one for a while, I swear. This mod has been a month in the making, and was an absolute blast. I've learned tonnes about texture replacement for Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux (they use the same pipeline). Happy to share info if it's desired. Otherwise, enjoy the mod!

All coming together

Microscope: Kentfaith GW45.0066
Objective: 4x Achromatic
Sample: Ostracoda spp.
Camera: Canon EOS 750D

Pseudo-darkfield with a hybrid rheinberg inspired rim/edge lighting.

Once I get things organised for focus stacking, i'll be incredibly happy.

Gambling with Aliexpress

Took a gamble, and ordered dirt cheap "PLAN" objectives from Aliexpress. Paid $44AUD for a 20x PLAN objective, and it's actually a PLAN objective!

Anyone else play the Chinese roulette, or is it just me?

I've been building a simplified calibration & scale bar tool for microscope images. Looking for feedback.

Hi everyone,

For the past several months I've been developing a small Windows application called FijiCal Lite, and I'd love to get some feedback from people who actually spend time behind a microscope.

The project started as a Fiji plugin. My original goal was simply to make adding scale bars less repetitive. After using it for a while I realised I was still spending most of my time navigating menus, so it gradually evolved into a standalone application focused on one job: microscope image calibration and publication-ready scale bars.

Current features include:

- Calibration presets for different objectives/camera combinations

- One-time calibration from a stage micrometer

- Batch processing with mixed calibration presets

- Editable scale bars

- Batch export with configurable formats and naming

- Automatic organisation of processed images into a separate folder

- Pen/touch support (great on Surface devices)

The philosophy is pretty simple:

Fiji is an incredible scientific image analysis platform. FijiCal Lite isn't trying to replace it. It's just trying to make the calibration and scale-bar workflow faster and less repetitive.

I'm currently looking for researchers, teachers and hobbyists willing to kick the tyres and tell me where I've made terrible decisions.

A few questions I'd love feedback on:

- Is calibration and scale-bar generation something you do regularly?

- What's the most annoying part of your current workflow?

- Would you rather use something like this as a standalone application or as a Fiji plugin?

- Are there any "must-have" features you'd expect before trying it?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who process large numbers of microscope images.

FijiCal Lite will be entirely free and open source, in keeping with the philosophy and licensing of Fiji/ImageJ. This project wouldn't exist without the incredible work of the Fiji/ImageJ community.

Thanks!
