The Wasting of Time of Michael Scott

I am someone that would probably like to work in an office. I’ve heard it’s mainly repetitive, boring and you have lots of spare time after doing your work (this obviously depends on where you go or what you do).

So I was thinking, why do the Office members hate when Michael wastes their time with his conference room meetings or jokes or time out of the office? I would think that it would mean he is taking up their time while getting paid and they wouldn’t have to do work.

But then I realised the Salespeople are commission-based. So all that time they’re wasting in meetings and pranks and things that Michael does, is a lead they’re not following and money they’re not making, so yeah I’d be peeved too 😭

I assume the others who don’t like it, (Accounting for eg) is Oscar and Angela, because it doesn’t fit their personalities despot the fact they probably are on salary.

Writing in Third Person but it feels like First

Writing in Third Person but it feels like First

Question:

Hi! So I need some advice on how best to write my novel. It has 5 Character POVs and a sixth which is a more neutral POV, meaning it has no bias, no description, just a view.

My problem is that I feel when I write, even though it’s third person, it feels first person. I’m writing, “Sarah felt this, Sarah could not believe event was happening, Sarah’s shoulders sagged and they let out a shaky breath” for eg. but that feels so personal, is it because in character pov’s, third person doesn’t work? I don’t like first person, so I am hoping I can figure out a way to make it click for me, or maybe some tips that have to do with changing my perspective.

I have tried writing less about the character’s feelings but I don’t know if it limits the story and I want to try do less telling more showing, but this may be contributing to the problem.

Thank you! ☺️
