Some days I feel I just have really bad anxiety and a benzo would suffice. But benzo is a no-no now in medicine. But why is using APs like quetiapine with a whole list of side effects - memory loss, metabolic - is still okay?

Miss days when Adderall was just for kids. So I went to my first Bipolar/Depression Alliance support group and the main topic for whole two hour meeting was regarding different frequencies of consciousness, new forms of consciousness, and parallel universes.
I know the support group is supposed to be a safe and open space for everyone, but this topic just seemed to support the ideas that occur during mania. Like it makes people think random events have some meaning or is a sign from god.
Am I being too judgmental? Are these openly supported topics at other bipolar support groups?
