Ex wife is actively dodging getting served

Location: Austin Texas
I am trying to modify my child custody agreement because my son has told me he no longer feels safe at his mom’s house. I have started the legal process but my ex told me
Yesterday she is going to continue to not get served.
Is there anything that I can do to bypass the process?

EDIT: Just wanted to say Thank you to everyone who has given me advice and helped me feel like i wasnt going crazy.
