50s and Menopause

Hello all,

I'm new to MJ and I wanted to try and get this weight off once and for all. Any success stories out their for gals like us?

I've struggled wit hormones for years had a partial hysterectomy (32yrs old) for fibroids, endometriosis, and one ovary removal cervix still intact.

I'm pretty much a low carb eater.Nothin has worked without consistency ofc. I was recently a T2D so this is what got me to MJ wit reluctance.

But I'm here and hoping it will bring down the sugar and help she'd some pounds. I'm on my 3rd shot 2.5mg.

Feeling good so far no side effects that I realize yet Any one have luck with my same issues. I'm starting with a personal trainer in 2wks for strength building.

I'm pretty consistent with walking on my treadmill and taking the stairs daily to 4th floor at work. But at my age I need to build MUSCLE.

Had a Dexa scan about a year ago or so . I just wanna see if anyone has had luck with MJ wit all these symptoms?

Good luck to you all!!

Hunger cues

Hello all I'm on my 3rd shot and I wake up this am and still have hunger cues I'm totally fine with this also. I know its just the beginning and at times I do feel the appetite suppression where I can't eat anymore.

But I'm older 52yr old female and want to lose slower rather than fast. I've been struggling wit the weight quite some time since having forced peri and now I'm full on menopause.

Am I the only one thats on the medicine thats ok with losing slower and still having hunger cues?

I have one more shot before I go to 5mg.

Not sure if I will but know its recommended by manufacturer. I've just seen where so many say they have zero hunger and forced to eat. I really don't want that for me.

I'm starting strength training on Monday excited about that also. I need to add muscle because I eventually want to go it alone after.

My weight is definitely more hormones I've been dealing with forever and after labs and weight not improving I finally decided I need help.

So here I am.

LP(a) elevated

Hi all I just started taking atorvastatin my levels have been elevated and so my doctor did a test to see how much of risk I am for CVD. Welp it says 179. I never heard of this before and never been tested for it.

Does this mean I'm doomed?

Cholesterol =203

HDL=54

LDL=134

Tri=45

LP(A)= 179

Anyone dealing with this? I hear its genetic and not much you can do about it. Just wondering will the new statin lowering my LDL help in long run?

Advice

Hello everyone I'm on my second shot and can feel change happening. I'm on it for T2D. I'm hoping to lose some weight also . I'm older and don't mind losing slowly because of loose skin etc.

My question is what do you think I should do when having to titrate up to 5mg in a couple weeks. I'm headed to a fun filled weekend in NYC and I'm afraid I'm gonna have the horrid side effects everyone is talking about once you go up.

I just don't want to ruin the vacay and feel horrible. Any thoughts on what I should do?

  1. Delay shot until I get back/ take it earlier

  2. Skip a week

  3. Take it and take my chances

  4. Stay on 2.5 for another round
