I stopped to listen to a saxophone outside the Brandenburg Gate 🎷

I was walking around Berlin during the Festival of Lights when I heard a saxophone playing outside the Brandenburg Gate.

It was around 7:30 PM.

I had no idea what song the musician was playing, but something about the sound, the night, and the atmosphere made me stop walking.

I ended up recording five minutes of the performance on my Vivo X300 Pro.

The Brandenburg Gate was completed in 1791. That evening, I wasn't thinking about its history or taking the perfect tourist shot. I was just enjoying a street musician playing a song I couldn't identify.

Funny how an unfamiliar song can become a moment you remember.

For those who live in Berlin or have visited, where have you come across a street musician who made you stop and listen?

Dresden genuinely feels like an open-air museum

I spent some time walking around Dresden's historic centre and this city really surprised me.

The area around Theaterplatz is insane.

You've got the Semperoper, Hofkirche, Zwinger and several other historic buildings all packed into a relatively small walking area.

What I liked most was that it doesn't feel like you're constantly moving between tourist attractions.

You're just walking through a normal city.

Trams are passing.

People are commuting.

Cyclists are everywhere.

And behind them you've got this incredible historic architecture.

One fact I found particularly interesting: the Semperoper opened in 1841, was destroyed by fire in 1869, and reopened in its present form in 1878.

It makes the architecture feel even more impressive when you know how much of Dresden had to be rebuilt and restored.

If you're visiting Dresden for only a few hours, I'd definitely recommend exploring this whole area on foot.

For people who have visited Dresden: what was your favourite spot in the Altstadt?

Save this for your next Germany trip and share it with someone who needs to see Dresden.

Berlin’s sky was full of giant kites today 🪁at Tempelhofer Feld

Went to the Festival der Riesendrachen at Tempelhofer Feld today and honestly didn't expect some of these kites to be this huge.

There were thousands of kites in the sky, including giant animals and other crazy designs.

The festival is held at Tempelhofer Feld — the former Tempelhof Airport, which is probably one of the best places in Berlin for something like this because of the huge open space.

A few photos from today. 🪁
