Appreciate your feedback

The only way to grow is to put yourself out there, accept the feedback good or bad, learn and evolve.

At 44 this may sound daunting but if I am not willing to take hits to get better, I have no business in sharing my time, effort or knowledge with others.

We live and should live everyday to try and be the best version of ourselves.

My first Video

It's a quick intro to me and the channel: handhelds, eGPUs, gaming PCs, and the real-world testing behind them. No polished fake-expert act — just me being honest about where I'm starting from and where I want to take this.

Would genuinely appreciate any honest feedback — pacing, audio, editing, what worked, what didn't. I'm here to get better, so don't hold back

2nd Portable Setup -DEG2-CLAW8AI+ and 3090

Finally got my second portable eGPU setup working 😄

This is my alternative setup alongside my full ASUS ROG travel setup:

- ROG Xbox Ally X

- XG Mobile RTX 5090 (2025)

- ASUS ROG XG17AHPE portable monitor

This time I wanted to experiment with something a bit more modular and upgradeable.

Current setup:

- MSI Claw 8 AI+

- Minisforum DEG2 eGPU dock

- ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3090 White OC

- MSI MPG A750GF 750W PSU

- USB4 v2 connection (not OCuLink)

Honestly, I was worried whether the PSU would properly handle the Strix 3090 in this setup.

At first I thought either the PSU or GPU was dead because nothing happened after connecting power. Turns out I had to:

- correctly populate all 3 PCIe power connectors on the 3090

- properly trigger PSU startup

- then install NVIDIA drivers after Windows detected the GPU

After some trial and error, it finally came alive and the Claw picked it up immediately.

Ran FurMark and everything seems stable so far.

Next step is pairing this setup with the ASUS ROG XG17AHPE for travel/work trips.

XG17AHPE specs:

- 17.3” portable IPS display

- 1920x1080

- 240Hz refresh rate

- Adaptive Sync / VRR

- Built-in battery

- USB-C + micro-HDMI

- Very low latency for a portable display

The idea is basically having two travel options:

  1. Full premium ASUS ecosystem setup with the XG Mobile 5090

  2. A more experimental/modular setup using the DEG2 + desktop GPU

Honestly surprised how well this worked 😂

Questions for the eGPU veterans:

  1. Would you trust a quality 750W PSU long term with a Strix 3090 over USB4V2?

  2. Any recommended undervolt/OC profiles for the 3090 in an eGPU setup?

  3. Anyone compare USB4 v2 vs OCuLink on the DEG2 specifically?

  4. Any good travel/storage solutions for transporting this setup safely?

Specs/screenshots attached.
