[Hiring] $25-30/hr — casual reading buddy gig over Zoom, starts Sept

Looking for a few Toronto university students to be a "reading buddy" for a kid in Shanghai — low-key, 3x/week over Zoom.

- Starts early September
- 3x/week, 1hr sessions, morning-ish for them (flexible on your end, work around your classes)
- Pick a short passage, maybe a few questions to talk about after — that's the whole prep
- $25-30/hr
- Fully remote

Good fit if you're chill, patient with kids, and can hold a regular weekly slot. No specific experience needed, though tutoring/Kumon background helps.

Hiring 4 tutors for different kids, so happy to match schedules.

Email resume + why you'd be a good fit to lucaswang6910@gmail.com, plus your availability.

[Hiring] Be a reading buddy for a kid in Shanghai over Zoom — 3x/wk, $25-30/hr, starts Sept

Hey Toronto,

Looking for a uni student to be a "reading buddy" for a kid in Shanghai — basically just hop on Zoom a few times a week, read together, chat about it. Nothing heavy.

The gig:
- Starts beginning of September
- 3x/week, 1hr each, around their morning (so evening-ish for you, flexible — happy to work around your class schedule)
- You pick a short story or passage each week and maybe jot down a few questions to chat through after — that's really it for "prep"
- Fully remote, from wherever

Who we're looking for:
- UofT (or nearby) student, any year
- Patient, easy to talk to, comfortable with kids
- Kumon/ESL/tutoring experience is a plus but honestly not required
- Reliable > fancy resume

Pay: $25-30/hr. Hiring 4 tutors total for different kids, so there's a decent chance there's a spot even if one fills up.

Email your resume + a couple lines on why this sounds like a good fit to lucaswang6910@gmail.com — include your availability/class schedule.

Thanks!

[JOB] Summer Babysitter/Nanny – $20–30/hr, July, Vancouver

Hi everyone,

We are looking for a uni student to help with our four kids (ages 6–12) for about four weeks this July (5th–30th) in Vancouver.

The role would be Monday to Friday, roughly 5-6 hours a day, as we're flexible on hours. It's a mix of babysitting and the occasional grocery run or errand with the kids. The kids will be in summer camp part of the time too, so it's not full-on solo care every day. We're open to either live-in or live-out, whichever works better for the right person.

Ideally we'd love to find someone who's a native English speaker and genuinely enjoys working with kids. A background in education or English is a lovely plus, as is being an upper-year or grad student, but neither is a must — what matters most is being warm, reliable, and a good fit.

Pay is $20–30/hr negotiable based on experience, paid weekly.

If this sounds like you, please email lucaswang6910@gmail.com or DM me with a quick intro (year, school, what you're studying), any relevant experience, and your July availability. Happy to chat over coffee first to make sure it's a good fit.

Tags and referrals very welcome — thank you!

[Hiring] Uni student to babysit/tutor a few elementary school kids for 4 weeks in July — Vancouver, $20–30/hr negotiable

Hey Vancouver,

My family is looking for a uni student (3rd/4th year or grad, ideally studying education, English, or similar) to babysit a few elementary school kids for ~4 weeks this summer, July 5–30.

The role:

- Mon–Fri, roughly 9am–3pm (flexible, happy to discuss)

- Mostly babysitting at our place — playing, going to the park, walks

- Some light tutoring (English practice, reading, basic homework-style stuff)

- Occasional errands like grocery runs

- May be live-in. You'd commute to us in Vancouver

What we're looking for:

- English as a first language (kids are working on their English, so this matters)

- Comfortable around kids, ideally some babysitting/tutoring/camp counsellor experience

- First aid/CPR a plus but not required

- References appreciated

Pay: $20–30/hr negotiable based on experience, paid weekly. Lunch provided.

If this sounds like you, send me an email at Lucaswang6910@gmail.com with:

  1. A quick intro (year, school, what you're studying)

  2. Any relevant experience with kids

  3. Your availability for July

UBC/SFU/KPU all welcome. Happy to do a quick coffee chat first to make sure it's a fit.

Thanks!
