Abdominal Fluid buildup

Hi there, I’m new to the group. I joined to see if I could get some extra opinions on my dog Johnathan. He’s about two years old, I have no idea his breed. I adopted him last year from a shelter. Recently, he was diagnosed with hookworm… probably almost a month ago now. But he seems to be retaining fluid on his abdomen. I took him in to MedVet and they quoted me $10,000 to run CTs and heart scans because they couldn’t find the reason why he’s retaining so much fluid on his abdomen. They drained about 3.6L of fluid on Wednesday, and now I’ve noticed he’s already retaining fluid again. I’m at a loss. I’ve had several vet opinions but obviously nothing has been found, and $10,000 is out of the budget right now. Any advice or help would be great! Thank you. I’ve attached his bloodwork panel as well.

He acts fine, playing and running around. His breathing is a little different I’d say. He’s been eating just fine and today he only ate half, then came back later. He’s been drinking lot of water to the point I have to tell him to stop then come back to it.

The first pictures are him healthy.
Second is the progression of fluid build up.
Third is post-drain
Fourth is this morning.
