Daycare Transition

Starting daycare with our will be 15 month old September 1 with the goal of going full time. Going to transition over a week. She is going to the toddler room (18 months -2.5) to avoid multiple transitions, but of course I am nervous. She has never been away from myself or her dad for very long. Expecting a rough month or so and then hopefully things will start to improve.

Looking for your personal anecdotes and experiences. Read a lot of “it’s hard but then gets better eventually” comments on posts but looking for your own experience. No detail is too much, I think the vague comments fuel my anxiety because I negate them or something.

Room layout help!

14 month old currently in crib for most nights, but I’m returning to work soon and her night wakes take about half an hour to get her back in (nurse to sleep and then let her doze enough to transfer). Considering a floor bed but we have such a small baby room! I laid out with painters tape the dimensions of a double mattress, but she’s tight! Anyone else have a small space? Suggestions?

Normal wakes?

13.5 months held to sleep and sometimes nursed to nearly then replace with soother, transfer to crib when asleep.

Top molars are about half way through, bottom ones haven’t cut yet but I can see the ridges under the gum. When she wakes overnight I wait until she cries then go in to comfort. She always requires to be picked up, always tapping my chest to ask to nurse. Often times while drifting off her hands explore my chest and arms - driving me crazy lately. Please reassure me this is just a phase. We don’t want to sleep train and wondering if maybe she is developmentally ready to try to encourage supported falling asleep in her crib..

Thoughts, prayers, anecdotes or personal stories appreciated.

EYES Childcare Bowmanville

Anyone’s experience? Potential spot coming up and torn between that and a secured spot we have at home daycare starting at 14 months.
