why does every service need an account now?😭

I needed to book a doctor's appointment so i downloaded the app. (and visited website too)

1--> created an account.

2--> verified my phone number

3--> verified my email.

4--> filled out my profile.

5--> added my address.

6--> accepted cookies.

7--> Turned off notifications.

Finally booked the appointment. this made me realize maybe somethings were simpler in the previous generations, don't get me wrong life IS convenient now but something feels off and lowkey this sign up process is exhausting

I miss when you could just... call

unpopular opinion but I think Google has made simple decisions harder.

I needed a dentist in Nerul and google gave me like 38 results and reddit had 4 different recommendations, while Instagram had some sponsored posts.

my society whatsapp group had another 3 numbers. (i'm a aspiring CAT student living away from home for the first time.)

After forty minutes...I still hadn't booked anyone and I couldnt help but think that:

at some point, having more options stopped feeling like convenience. my mind is fazed..!

we optimized for access to information and forgot that what people actually need is help making a decision. those are very different things.

(how to find dentist pls help)
