Looking for advice from current Claims/CLRU employees.
I recently applied for a starter CLRU position (taking FNOL/answering incoming calls and setting up claims). I received an email saying the posted salary range is $33k–$50k, but I currently make a little over that in Services. The email also said HR and the hiring manager would determine my salary, but they wanted me to accept before I knew what my actual pay would be, which seemed a little odd.
For background, I have prior CLRU experience at another company, adjuster experience, claims customer service experience, and I've also been a claims trainer.
Here's where I'm struggling with the decision. Recently, services announced increased AI usage, and I saw that a few depts recently in CRM were eliminated. I actually enjoy customer service, even though the back-to-back calls can be exhausting. In services, though, there are part-time, same day PTO/GA and Flex opportunities, which are a huge benefit to me.
So, I have a few questions for those of you currently in Claims:
- If you were in my position, would you move to CLRU or stay in Services?
- Is CLRU a good long-term move, especially with the changes happening in Services?
- Does Claims/CLRU offer part-time or Flex schedules, or is it primarily full-time?
- If you transferred internally from Services to CLRU, were you able to keep your current pay if it was above the posted salary range?
- Overall, are you happy you made the move?
I'm just trying to make the best long-term decision, so I'd really appreciate hearing from people who are currently doing the job. Thanks!
