Looking for advice from current Claims/CLRU employees.

I recently applied for a starter CLRU position (taking FNOL/answering incoming calls and setting up claims). I received an email saying the posted salary range is $33k–$50k, but I currently make a little over that in Services. The email also said HR and the hiring manager would determine my salary, but they wanted me to accept before I knew what my actual pay would be, which seemed a little odd.

For background, I have prior CLRU experience at another company, adjuster experience, claims customer service experience, and I've also been a claims trainer.

Here's where I'm struggling with the decision. Recently, services announced increased AI usage, and I saw that a few depts recently in CRM were eliminated. I actually enjoy customer service, even though the back-to-back calls can be exhausting. In services, though, there are part-time, same day PTO/GA and Flex opportunities, which are a huge benefit to me.

So, I have a few questions for those of you currently in Claims:

  • If you were in my position, would you move to CLRU or stay in Services?
  • Is CLRU a good long-term move, especially with the changes happening in Services?
  • Does Claims/CLRU offer part-time or Flex schedules, or is it primarily full-time?
  • If you transferred internally from Services to CLRU, were you able to keep your current pay if it was above the posted salary range?
  • Overall, are you happy you made the move?

I'm just trying to make the best long-term decision, so I'd really appreciate hearing from people who are currently doing the job. Thanks!

Types of jobs safe from AI

Am looking for ideas on positions that are safe from AI. Anyone know companies that are hiring or know of safe positions?

Currently work for a company in services and appears AI will take over. I do have claims experience in P&C. Thank you!

Text message alerts

How come we don't send out text message alerts? If our customers don't read the emails or the letters we send, why not opt for blaring alerts on the app like an amber alert ... policy near cancelation, fill out your forms, etc..

Transferring a call

Several times a day, I receive calls for other areas outside my area of training. When I explain to the insureds that I need to transfer them to the appropriate department: UWT, claims, etc, they will interrupt me or talk over me and ask me to assist with their request. After I reiterate that the appropriate department would be better equipped to handle the call, the caller starts becoming abusive and with the back to back calls, it becomes tiring.

How do you handle these calls?

Workview app and OT

I was signing up for OT and accidentally signed up for 2 shifts. The 5am shift was pre selected with a check mark and I did not know that I had to remove it before I submitted the 10 am option. Now it is showing 5 am and 10 am.....how do I remove that? Verint is not giving me an option. I tried calling WFM earlier to let them know.

GA/3 Dock

Do you think the company will ever give us a fixed set amount of hours each week like I develop or slide?

I am in a 2 person household. My partner is the main bread maker. I have this position because I like the benefits and helping people but the back to back calls are draining me. I had 97 calls yesterday.

Each day, week, denied GA/3 Dock meanwhile colleagues getting 37 hours a week of GA ..what's going on? They are having fun. I'm struggling to keep my sanity.

I wish we were allotted like 5 to 10 hrs a week of fixed GA to cope. Will this be available or not a chance?

I have been getting selected for work place surveys pretty often and my supe said something concerning. They said they will be able to tell it was me.....I was nervous all day and afraid to be honest.

I thought I saw a previous post from someone else. How did it turn out? My stomach is in knots. Can someone reach out in messenger.

This Friday is a full moon. Lately, all Fridays have been back to back and crazy questions, scenarios, etc

Let's make this funny to lighten up the mood. Name crazy scenarios that you heard recently. I will go first.

Had a NI call in and say what happened to my policy. Why is it not active? Why didn't you tell me? Looks through policy and emails and usps letters...sees bad bank card removed, 7 emails and 3 letters. Explains what I see and says they have options..take payment get SONL or the other 2 options. NI says reinstate. I start asking the questions, they interrupted me and start screaming because they had an accident and want us to pay LOL
