1930s and 1940s B movie series are quite fun.

I’ve been having lots of fun watching these. They are often short and very entertaining. Series like Torchy Blane, Tarzan, Charlie Chan, John Wayne’s early Westerns, Abbott and Costello (if that counts). I would consider them the popcorn flicks of their day.

Jake Roberts’ memorable heel run was quite short

Interesting how Jake Roberts’ most praised part of his WWF run, after he turned heel again, was only a little over half a year (August 1991 to April 1992) which was unfortunate because I found it much more entertaining than the face run he did before.

It’s been over a hundred years since a team from British Columbia won the Stanley Cup.

Last time was the Victoria Cougars in 1925.

I find the 1946-1953 period fascinating (but mostly forgotten)

Views of the 1940s are often dominated by World War II, and the 1950s by the Eisenhower administration and rock ‘n’ roll. But I feel like this period is often overlooked. Coincidentally this included the Korean War, commonly called the Forgotten War.

But it also included other important moments such as the Marshall Plan, Berlin Airlift, first atomic bomb of the USSR, Chinese Civil War, and for pop culture the emergence of bebob, beginnings of regular network television and the peak of film noir.
