How does psychology define a healthy mind?

I’m curious about how psychology distinguishes between normal variations in thinking, perception, and emotion, and patterns that become clinically significant.

The opposite of psychosis is not always knowing what is true

No one experiences the world completely unfiltered!

Our brains are constantly creating interpretations!

Maybe mental health isn’t about never misinterpreting things.

Maybe it’s the ability to say:

“This feels real. But I’m open to the possibility that my interpretation might be wrong.”

Maybe psychosis is not simply about what someone perceives, but about how strongly the brain connects meaning to those experiences and how difficult it becomes to step back and question those meanings.

Is being “healthy” less about what someone experiences, and more about how they relate to their experiences?
